Keira didn’t know what it was like for other women during pregnancy, but for her, it was just swollen, aching legs. 

“Seems like the news is pretty well–informed. Yep, you’d better get the red envelopes ready,” Hayden’s tone was surprisingly similar to Lena’s. 

“Dr. Lane wasn’t serious with you. Don’t take it to heart,” Hayden reminded him. 

Ron laughed. “Why can’t I take it seriously? I’m sincere with her, and she’ll definitely see it. Who knows, she might even fall in love with me, and then my fake relationship might turn real.” 

He sounded pretty confident. 

“I’m serious, not joking,” Hayden and Keira both assumed he was just playing around, trying to tease them. 

On the other end of the call, Ron fell silent. “I’m serious too. Actually, I’ve liked Dr. Lane for a long time. I feel like this is a sign from fate, that the heavens are helping me because of my sincere feelings.” 

Keira was speechless, glancing at Hayden. 

He raised an eyebrow. “Are you serious, or are you just joking? Dr. Lane definitely isn’t serious. I have to remind you, don’t dive in too quickly, or you might get swept away.” 

“I know, persistence will eventually break through, right? Don’t worry about me, and tell your wife not to worry about her friend. We’re all adults now. Let’s all mind our own business,” Ron replied, sounding like he was giving us a lecture. 

The all ended, and Hayden looked at Keira. “‘See what I mean?” 

“I can’t just ignore this. I have to tell Lena about Ron’s feelings so she stays cautious. If Ron really gets too deep, she’ll be dragging another man into a mess,‘ Keira said, feeling a bit exasperated in her heart. Lena was like a flower that didn’t bloom for ages, but once it did, it blossomed everywhere. 

Hayden didn’t stop Keira. He handed her phone to her, and just as she was about to take it, a sharp pain shot through her stomach. “Ah-!” 

Keira gasped, and he immediately tensed up. “What happened?” 

She didn’t respond but just looked at him. He quickly stood up. “Talk to me, what’s

She pointed to her stomach, and he followed her finger, noticing how her sweater dress stretched, the bump of her belly now visibly moving from one side to the other. “Is it the baby moving?” Hayden asked, filled with excitement. 

Although the baby had been moving for a while now, and Keira could feel it with her hands, seeing it so clearly through her clothes was something Hayden had never witnessed before. 

“Is it punching in there?” Hayden said, reaching out to touch the bump. 

But the baby seemed to be playing, shifting to the other side every time he touched it. 

Keira watched Hayden chase after the little bump, and it was already clear–father and child were having a playful moment before the baby had even been born. 

“Sweetheart, is it too much for you? Does it hurt?” Hayden asked, his concern growing. 

Keira smiled softly. “No, it doesn’t hurt. It’s just that the baby’s moving a bit too much. It feels a little awkward.”
