Chapter 961 

After Keira’s checkup, Hayden returned. The first thing Keira did was look him over from head to toe, relieved to find he hadn’t acquired any new injuries. “Did you get anything out of him?” 

“He confessed he was broke and was looking to steal some money,” Hayden replied. 

“That simple?” Lena was skeptical. 

Keira doubted it too, and judging by Hayden’s expression, he wasn’t convinced either. She looked at him, seeking confirmation. “Do you think that’s all there is to it?” 

“This man does have a prior record of theft and robbery,” Hayden said. “I let him but had someone tail him. We’ll investigate further by tracking his contacts.” 

With that, he took the checkup report from Lena. 

Lena explained, “It’s nothing serious, just pregnancy–related. Make sure she gets foot massages, soaks her feet, and avoids standing too much.” 

After the checkup was completed, Keira arranged for Lena to visit them later at the courtyard and left with Hayden.

When they arrived at the courtyard, Keira hadn’t even stepped fully inside before hearing a familiar little voice. 

“You’re back, sister!” 

“Nina!” Keira exclaimed with joy at seeing her. 

Sasha walked over, her eyes landing on Keira’s rounded belly. “I heard you went for a checkup. Everything okay?” 

“Mm, nothing to worry about,” Keira replied, holding Nina’s tiny hand. “Why didn’t you let me know you were coming?” 

“Nina was cranky today and refused to go to kindergarten. Since I had nothing urgent, I decided to bring her over,” Sasha said, smiling at her daughter. “She talks about you constantly. You’re more of a favorite to her than I am.” 

“Is that so?” Keira stroked Nina’s soft little cheeks. “I missed you too.” 

“She even asked me to give her a younger sibling,” Sasha said with a helpless smile..

Chapter 961 

“But who am I supposed to have one with?” 

“You? You could have one with anyone,” Keira teased. 

Sasha glanced at Hayden and smirked. “Anyone?” 

Hearing their banter drift into nonsense, Hayden decided to excuse himself. “I’ll get you two something to drink.” 

As he walked away, Sasha gave Keira a knowing wink. “He’s so proper, isn’t he?” 

Today seemed to be Hayden’s turn to be the topic of amusement. Keira glanced at Nina and reminded her, “There’s a child here–watch what you say.‘ 

They found a spot to sit and chat while Nina went off to play on the swing nearby. 

“Did you find out the baby’s gender? Boy or girl?” Sasha asked. 

Keira placed a hand on her belly. “Not yet.” 

It would’ve been easy to know. Lena could’ve told her with a simple ultrasound, but she chose not to find out. Anticipation made surprises sweeter. Knowing the answer ahead of time wasn’t bad, but it couldn’t compare to the excitement of discovering it later. 

“Your belly is so round. It’s probably a girl,” Sasha guessed with an air of experience. “That’s how I was when I had Nina.” 

“Really?” Keira chuckled, gently rubbing her stomach. “Baby, are you a girl? If you are, give me a little kick.” 

It was a casual comment, but as soon as Keira finished speaking, the baby–who had been quiet–moved. 

“Oh! She responded! She really is a girl!” Keira exclaimed, thrilled and surprised. 

Just then, Hayden came over with fresh juice for them. Handing Keira a glass, he asked, “What’s making you so happy?” 

“Our baby is a girl!” Keira said proudly. “I just asked her, and she responded.” 

“Really?” Hayden set the tray down, his hand naturally landing on Keira’s belly. ” Baby, can you kick for Daddy too?” 

Right on cue, the baby kicked twice against his hand. Hayden’s face lit up with joy as he leaned down and kissed Keira’s stomach. “What a good girl.” 

Keira watched him with a smile, warmth filling her chest. When she looked up, her

eyes met Sasha’s. Her expression was stiff, her gaze distant. 

After Hayden finished fussing over Keira and the baby, he went off to take care of other matters. Sasha turned to Keira and said quietly, “Keira, your happiness makes people jealous.”
