Everyone thought Avery was Vernon's only child, but that could not be further from the truth. No one knew Vernon had a previous marriage which resulted in another daughter. This meant Avery had an older stepsister. Even though the first marriage did not last, the fact remained that Brielle was also Vernon's legitimate daughter.

Back then, Vernon did not know his ex-wife was pregnant with Brielle when they divorced. It was only a few years ago that Brielle's mother—who was on her deathbed—told her daughter who her father was. Brielle thus went back to live with the Yeagers.

"Brielle definitely has something to do with this!" said Avery, resolute. "She must've done it out of revenge because she mistakenly thought I was the one who caused her to lose her virginity to a stranger…"

Vernon scoffed and cut in, "Mistakenly thought? Was it all really a misunderstanding?"

Avery's face froze.

Seeing this, Alana quickly came to her defense. "It doesn't matter whether Avery is set up or not. The more important thing now is to figure out how to save the wedding. From the looks of it, the Hart family is going to call off the wedding!"
