“YOU LOOKED STUNNING, Portia’s words lingered in the air, a compliment that made Helga’s heart race with happiness. The ethereal wedding gown hugged and flowed in all the right places, accentuating her slim figure. Silver jewelry adorned her ears and neck, sparkling in the light like stars in the night sky. 

Her fiery red hair was pulled tightly into a low ponytail, showing off her delicate features And cascading from the back of her head was a veil, its intricate lace designs held in place by a beautiful crown perched atop her head. 

For Helga, the realization that she would soon become a Laia, and a Queer at that, was finally starting to sink in. Her heart raced in her chest as she gazed at herself in the mirror, taking in the full sple of her appearance.

“Are you nervous?” Portia asked, causing her to turn and face the bett male. As she thought about the upcoming wedding, it reminded her of the engagement party with Ezra, but instead of ing nervous, she was filled with fear. What if something goes wrong during the ceremony? With a threat to the royal bloodline looming, whoever is behind this plot may stop at nothing to prevent the Alpha King from having an heir.. 

“No, Helga finally answered, “Just a little scared.” 

“Are you afraid of marrying the Alpha?” Portia asked, worry evident on her face. She couldn’t blame Helga for having doubts after everything that had happened in the past few days. However, she was hoping that Helga wouldn’t back out of the 

marriage. 

“No, that’s not it.” Helga responded softly, shaking her head. “More like… terrified that everything will go horribly wrong.” 

You have nothing to worry about. The Alpha King will make sure everything is fine. Portia reassured, “Shall we go now 

Helga inhaled deeply and gave a slight nod. As she left her bedroom, several royal guards led by Gamma Lucian awaited her. She could sense that the Alpha King was determined to protect her, which she appreciated. However, the fact that he had not made time to meet with her and talk to her for the past few days was both frustrating and unsettling for her. 

As soon as Helga stepped into the carriage, her heart rate increased rapidly. The royal guards, mounted on horses and surrounding the carriage, were on high alert to prevent any potential assassination attempts. She sat down silently, her gaze fixed on the front of the carriage because the curtain was drawn, covering the window to ensure that no one could see inside. 

Her mind was preoccupied with thoughts, so she hardly noticed when they reached the cathedral She jumped in surprise when the door suddenly opened, and Gamma Lucian extended his hand to assist her out of the carriage. She looked down at him and gratefully took his hand, while Portia hurried over to fix her wedding dress and veil before they entered the cathedral. 

“Thank you.” Helga expressed her gratitude, grasping the bouquet tightly in her hand. With a deep breath, she made her way towards the entrance of the grand cathedral. As soon as she stepped inside, her heart started racing at the sight of the Alpha King standing near the altar, dressed in a full royal navy commander’s uniform. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from him. feeling a rush of emotions overwhelm her as her breathing became shallow and her cheeks flushed with heat. 

Despite his attempts to distance himself, Siegren couldn’t help but be struck by the beauty of his queen. As she gracefully walked towards him with an otherworldly aura, he felt a strong desire to stay by her side, even though he knew it was dangerous and unwise. 

Helga continued her slow walk down the aisle, feeling the weight of hundreds of eyes from the guests inside the cathedral on her. It made her nervous, but when she locked eyes with Ezra, all her worries melted away. Especially when he looked like he regretted not being the one waiting for her at the altar. Miranda, on the other hand, couldn’t hide her displeasure as she glared at Helga, but that only made Helga smirk, knowing how threatened Miranda felt now that she was about to become Queen and she failed to get rid of her. 

She hadn’t intended on inviting them, but she believed it would be beneficial for them to witness the orphan they had mistreated and abandoned now being a part of the royal pack and Luna to the Alpha King. It felt like a slap in the face for them, and seeing their reactions only added to Helga’s satisfaction

“Your Majesty,” she greeted Siegren as she finally arrived at the altar. It was uncomfortable, given their recent interactions filled with tension and distance. 

However, she believed it was still necessary to show him respect not only he is the Alpha King, but he will also become her 

husband from now on. 

“You look beautiful,” he blurted out causing Helga to widen her eyes in surprise, as well as Sirgren. They both seemed caught off guard by his unexpected compliment. However, he quickly composed himself and offered his arm for Helga to take, and she nodded with a shy smile before linking her arm through his. Her heart raced with disbelief that he had actually paid her such a compliment. 

Before she knew it, the ceremony had begun. Just like any other wedding, they time for the official kiss between the groom and bride. Helga stood nervoush other. Despite wearing a mask because he is in public, she could still feel the

Suddenly, the sound of the crowd clapping caused him to snap his eyes open and pull away abruptly. His hand dropped to his side as Helga blinked in surprise, her heart still racing because she didn’t expect him to press his lips into her that long. 

Meanwhile, Ezra’s fists clenched tightly, his jaw set with anger as he watched the scene unfold before him. Miranda, sensing his unease, bit her lip, puzzled by his strong reaction. Was it possible that he still harbored feelings for his ex? The thought stirred a fierce protectiveness in her and her inner wolf, especially since she and Ezra were set to marry soor 

The wedding ceremony sped by, with many customs left unobserved. As royals, they were meant to partake in a grand parade and balcony show at the palace, but Siegren opted to skip it all. That’s the reason Helga didn’t include it in the preparations. When she asked David why the Alpha King was hesitant about doing all of that, the beta clarified that Siegren wanted to err on the side of caution because there was still a looming threat around them. 

Siegren was not willing to take any chances and risk any mishaps during the event. 

“WE DON’T NEED to consummate our marriage tonight,” Siegren’s words caught Helga’s attention, causing her to look up at him. They were now seated across from each other inside the carriage, her brows furrowed in confusion. Skipping the traditions of royal weddings was one thing, but skipping consummation altogether? It didn’t make sense to her. 

“Why?” she asked him “Is there a problem?”
