Freya
Oh, my goddess, how did he find out? I felt guilty when he told me about Clay being my first kiss. It was the truth, but I never thought he would ever find out we were mates. I had already lost hope that he would be able to find out about us. That's why I was willing to start a relationship with Clay. I knew he had been rejected, and no mate awaited him.
But now that Matteo was claiming me, I felt instantly sorry for Clay. It was because I knew, deep in my heart, that I would choose my mate over him. Matteo was angry, and I could see that. I was scared and worried that he would do something terrible to Clay, and I didn't like that. He didn't know anything.
Our conversation ended well after I told him I hated him and started crying. I only did that to test him. I want to know whether he will feel guilty and try to console me. And when he did, I already knew that I had won. I found a way to get what I wanted.
"I am going home now," I said, not leaving my eyes on him.
"Fine," he replied, "I know what he was thinking. He knew that he had already lost to me, so I smiled. "You're smiling? Are you that happy that I am so powerless over you?"
"Yes, you got a problem with that?" I answered. He sighed before he pulled me away. I looked up to him because he was tall and huge at 6 feet 7 inches, while I was only 5 feet 6 inches.
"You should be thankful that I have been feeling guilty for almost five months for hurting you by being with another female Lycan. Just so you know, your punishment is still waiting for you." He replied before he claimed my mouth.
We caught our breath after that long kiss, and he had not left his eyes off of me. "What?" I asked,
"Nothing; I just couldn't believe that you were right before me." I rolled my eyes at him and remembered Mom and Dad waiting.
"I really need to go home now."
"Can't you just stay here? You know that I'm a Lycan, and it was in our nature to mark and mate with our mate as soon as we found them."
"Don't you dare do that," I warned him.
"If I planned on doing that, you would be lying on my bed by now. I just want to be with you."
"My parents will be worried, and I didn't want that to happen."
"What about the tournament tomorrow?" He asked.
"What about it?"
"Are you still going to fight? You don't know how worried I was when Jack called your name. Although I already know that you have your wolf, I still couldn't help but worry."
"I am fine, and I can fight. Mom and Dad trained me regularly, and they were both good fighters. One of the best in the Midnight Pack." I assured him, "Plus, Pi is so excited, and I don't think that we will lose to anyone."
"Just don't get hurt, please." He pleaded. I was touched, so I decided to reward him.
"Kiss me," I told him. He rubbed my face with his thumb, and I started feeling something build up between my thighs. I saw him smile and willingly grant my request.
We shared another deep and long kiss. I looked at him and was about to say something, but he beat me to it: "Fine, let's go." I smiled at the thought that he didn't want to be away from me, even for a moment. But I had to because I needed to tell my parents about us and myself.
"What is it, Joric?" I asked impatiently.
"I'm your mate, right?" I was surprised. How the hell did he think that he was my mate? Is he out of his mind? "It's because I can't smell you, so I can't acknowledge you. Tell me the truth, Freya."
"I am not your mate, idiot! If ever you are, I will never let you know." I replied and turned my back to him. I don't have time to spare for his nonsense.
"Freya, I know it. You're mine; just admit it." He said, following me. I started to feel worried about him because Matteo was just behind us.
"You are not my mate, Joric, so you better stop saying that," I told him.
"Joric, what's going on?" Alpha Daniel, his dad, asked. Now we're attracting attention.
"Dad, she knew it. She knew I was her mate but didn’t want to tell me. She was mad at me because of all my flings." I hate this. I don't know what got into him that he's acting this way.
"Freya?" Alpha Daniel asked, and I shook my head, telling him he was not my mate. "She already said it, Joric. She didn't feel the bond, so she's not your mate."
"She's just saying that! I just can't smell her scent. That's why she managed to lie. I want her dad, only her. I've been wanting her ever since she came into the pack. But Clay and Alec are guarding her. That’s why I cannot approach her." I think he's going crazy and will soon lose his position.
"I am sorry, Alpha, but he is not my mate," I said and turned around, but was stopped by Joric.
"You are mine, Freya, only mine. Clay, or even Alec, has no right over you!" he shouted. Alpha Daniel and Beta Jack took him away, but they were stopped by Matteo. I just hope that the future idiot Alpha will stop spewing nonsense. Oh, I'd rather leave them, so I started walking away. I still have to eat dinner because my mate didn't even consider inviting me.
