Adeena finished the full body checkup only after about five hours.

Since around four results would only be released after a few days, she would come and get all the results in one fell swoop after three days.

The sun went down in the evening, and the lights in the city were turned on.

The entrance of the hospital was crowded and bustling, as usual.

Adeena looked at the man beside her. “Mr. Winters, thank you for today.”

The CEO of Winters Corporation was very busy, yet he was able to take half a day off and accompany her for the physical examination. This caused her to warm up to him a little, despite the initial walls she kept around him.

She smiled faintly and said, “What do you want to eat, Mr. Winters? I’ll treat you.”

Adeena forgot to move backward. She forgot to move out of his grasp and leave. She just watched this man leaning forward and kissing her on the lips.

His lips were very cold.

His breath was extremely hot.

She went weak at the knees very quickly, and she wrapped her arms around his neck by reflex. Beep!

A loud car honk was heard.

Adeena instantly snapped out of her daze.

She turned around in shock. It was only then that she realized they were on the street!

The streetlights shone brightly, and the street was crowded. Countless people were staring at them.

“You…”

Adeena’s voice was hoarse.

She took a step backward, but her legs had turned to jelly. The moment she moved backward, she nearly fell down.

Duke held her in time. “Addy, let’s be together.”

Adeena’s mind was in a mess.

What remained of her rational thoughts told her that this man had a wife and four kids. She must not fall for him.

But she had just kissed him.

Adeena looked at her. “Didn’t you go on a date today? Why do you look like this?”

“Haha!”

Ruth chuckled in resignation, and her voice was filled with mockery.

She casually tucked her hair. “I’m hungry. Let’s go out and eat. I want to drink some alcohol.”

Today was the dimmest day in her life.

She felt that her world was falling apart.

Only getting drunk could let her seek a moment of relief.

Adeena sighed.

Today had been the most chaotic day of her life.

She also wanted some alcohol to clear her mind.

When the two of them were about to head out, the door of the living room was knocked.

“I guess Brady is back.” Ruth walked over and opened the door, but a delivery guy walked in with a big box.

“Ms. Willis, this is the meal you ordered. Please receive it.”

Ruth took over the box. “Why didn’t you say you’ve ordered dinner?”
