It was not until the warm winter sun shone in from the balcony that Adina and Duke woke up lazily.

It was already 8:00 am. The two of them, who rarely woke up late, had gotten busy the entire night, so they slept in a little longer.

Just as Adina was about to wake up, Duke wrapped his arms around her waist. “Addy, you should sleep a little longer. You were exhausted last night.” 1

“Aren‘t you more exhausted?” Adina said without looking shy. “I still have to head to the company and work today. Don‘t pester me.”

If they continued to lie in bed for a little longer, the man would definitely take advantage of her again.

When Duke saw her running into the bathroom, he subconsciously chuckled.

He lifted the blanket and got up. When he looked at the withered leaves and warm winter sun outside the window, his eyes were full of warmth.

Once he finished his work this quarter, he would take Addy to the south for winter break.

After Adina and Duke got ready, they went downstairs . The children had already gone to preschool. Following breakfast, Duke drove Adina to LaStar Technology Corporation and stopped downstairs.

“I‘ll come and pick you up after work in the evening. Remember to wait for me.”

Adina kissed him on the lips. “Okay, I‘ll wait for you.”

She carried a small leather bag and walked into the office building in her high heels. Ever since she came back from abroad, she had not been to the company much. She needed to slowly take care of the work that had accumulated for nearly a month.

Luckily, Serene was a capable and self–driven assistant. She would handle all the trivial matters, so the remaining work was the big projects that were more important and involved a higher amount of funds.

Serene brought him to the meeting room, and Adina took her sweet time as she walked to the meeting room ten minutes later.

When she showed up, Sean, who was sitting on the couch, immediately stood up. He went forward with a smile.

“ Addy, we finally meet.” Adina raised her eyebrows slightly. 

“Mr. Gardner, you should know my relationship with Sophia. I find it hard to respond to you if you call me ‘Addy.‘”

“Why do you say that, Addy? Our kinship can never be cut off,” Sean said with a smile. 

“I purposely came here today to apologize on Sophia‘s behalf. She said a lot of things that offended you last night, I already taught her a lesson at home, so she won‘t offend you again.”

As Sean spoke, he picked up a gift box. 

“I personally chose this gift for you as an apology. Please accept it, Addy.”
