Chapter 465

Theresa’s lips curled. “She asked me if I had known you could stand up and blamed me for not telling her earlier.”

“She’s insane. Don’t take it to heart!” Charlie was in a good mood at the thought that Sarah was now very angry.

Theresa wiped the water off her hair and Charlie took the towel naturally. He was very sweet and loving toward her.

Theresa stared at his handsome face. “Charlie.”

“Huh?” Charlie looked at her with a concerned look in his eyes.

Theresa asked, “Did you ever like Sarah?”

Charlie frowned and glared at her in disgust. “Ow! It’s disgusting!”

“I’m curious about it. You were together, after all. Don’t tell me if you don’t want.”

“Of course not. I never liked her,” Charlie said firmly.

“Then why were you with her?” Theresa asked curiously.

“Because of Grandpa. He wanted me to marry a woman from the Cameron family! I thought it would be the same to marry anyone so I might as well grant his wish.” He just hadn’t expected Sarah to run away from the wedding. He was resentful at the thought of Grandpa getting dementia because of her. Fortunately, now he could stand up. He only hoped that Grandpa would get better soon.

Theresa was satisfied with his answer. She sat up straight and looked out the window. It was

raining and the car was moving slowly. It suddenly occurred to her that Charlie had married her partly because of Grandpa. ‘Does he like me?’ The question was pointless. She had known what love was. It made no difference whether he liked her or not.

Soon they returned home. The two children went in first.

Old Mr. Calsis was still awake and Leticia was talking with him on the couch. Seeing Theresa,

he waved with a smile. “Sarah, let’s play chess.”

The butler helped set up the pieces. Theresa and Old Mr. Calsis sat down.

Theresa spoke up, “Grandpa.”

“Huh?” Old Mr. Calsis placed the pieces on the board carefully.

Theresa continued, “Will you call me Tess instead of Sarah?”

“Why?” Old Mr. Calsis gave her a puzzled look. “You’re Sarah.”

Theresa was frustrated. I’m not Sarah. Sarah has come back. Do you like her that much?” She knew Old Mr. Calsis was confused, but she minded being called Sarah and wanted him to correct himself!

Old Mr. Calsis grinned. “I like you.”

Theresa’s lips curled into a smile.
