Chapter 623
Charlie and Jonathan behind came into Leticia’s sight as they stepped into the room. “Charlie, you’re back.”
Leticia at once noticed his gaunt face and dark circles caused by lack of rest. “Did you find Theresa?”
“Yeah,” Charlie boomed, “but she said she had taken the kids to Cristina.”
“So Cristina hid the kids? But she denied this before, didn’t she?” Leticia said with a bewildered look on her face.
“I’m gonna have a talk with Cristina now.” Charlie had almost regard Cristina as a liar in his heart. Anyway, he would have her reveal kids’ whereabouts today!
His pace paused on the stairs as Leticia’s voice came from behind. “Eugene is upstairs. He comes for Cristina.”
Then the footsteps sounded again, and he went straight up the stairs without hesitation.
Eugene was standing outside the room door, waiting for Cristina to pack. Working accounted for a large part of his time these days, and he didn’t have time to pick up Cristina till today. Just at the moment, he saw Charlie come upstairs. “Charlie.”
Charlie cast a cold glance at him. “You know where the kids are, don’t you?”
“Theresa took them away, I told you. Why did you imprison Cristina? I’m taking her home now.”
Cristina had got her packing done. She raised her head, her eyes meeting with Charlie’s eyes. “Why are you looking at me?”
Eugene broke the ice suddenly. “How do you know Theresa wasn’t lying to you?”
“No. She’s been nice to Leonard and Ben. She won’t hurt them.” Charlie ever thought that Theresa had changed. so much that she would even use his kids to flatter Dick White. But as he looked into her eyes today, it cut through any his doubts to her. Theresa was not that kind of person. Yes, maybe she had no love to him, but she would never take use of two innocent kids to achieve her aim. Charlie Insisted his opinion since he refused to deny Theresa’s character, which was the same as to deny his insight.
All in all, the kids was most likely to stay with their mother, Cristina.
“Well, you’re right.” Eugene agreed with his words.
Charlie turned to Cristina. “Give back my children. I just wanna make sure they are safe now. Then I can forgive what you’ve done before for the sake of Eugene. Cristina, you know what should do.”
“No! They are my children. You want your child? Then just bear one. My children have nothing to do with you. It’s my freedom to take them away.” Cristina carried her own packing, ready to go. She was sick of this boring place. Thank goodness she had Eugene to pick her up.
