Chapter 102 I Decided to Stay with Him 

Sofia Schneider took care of Nathaniel Hart all night, eventually falling asleep at his bedside from exhaustion. 

Throughout the night, Sylvia Grant, Emiliano Rogers, and Otis Frank came in one after the other, trying to wake her so she could get some proper rest. 

However, they knew Sofia’s special condition–once she was awake, she probably wouldn’t go back to sleep again. 

So, they quietly checked on Nathaniel and then left the room. 

When Nathaniel woke up, the first thing he saw was Sofia sleeping beside him. 

Surprise flashed in his eyes, followed by a deep sense of affection. 

He marveled at how much this woman had done for him. 

He wanted to reach out and touch her face, but as soon as he moved, the pain from his back surgery made him groan. 

The sound woke Sofia up immediately. 

Sofia rubbed her eyes and looked at Nathaniel, taking a moment to realize he was awake. 

She was still a bit groggy and asked, “What time is it?” 

Nathaniel didn’t expect her first question to be about the time. 

He smiled helplessly, “Sofia, I don’t know. I just woke up too.” 

He had just woken up himself and had no idea how long he had been under the effects of the anesthesia. 

All he could see was Sofia. 

He didn’t even know what the room looked like. 

Sofia finally came to her senses and said, “Let me check.”

She was really worried. After all the preparation and a flawless surgery, she couldn’t bear for something to go wrong now and ruin everything. 

Nathaniel saw her worry and smiled weakly, “I’m fine, just a bit hungry.” 

Hearing this didn’t ease Sofia’s concern. 

She carefully examined Nathaniel to make sure there was no problem before saying, “Wait a moment, I’ll get you something to eat.” 

As she was about to leave, Nathaniel grabbed her wrist. 

“Sofia, stay with me for a while,” he said. 

Seeing her by his side when he woke up had deeply touched Nathaniel. 

Since Sofia entered the Hart family, she had been tirelessly taking care of him. 

At first, he hadn’t realized how hard she worked. 

This was the first time he saw her looking so exhausted. 

With a pained expression, Nathaniel said, “Sofia, thank you.” 

Sofia held his hand and replied, “It’s what I should do. Don’t be so serious.” 

She wasn’t a saint; she was just doing what she could, within her abilities.

This stirred a strange feeling in her heart. 

She didn’t answer for a long time, and Nathaniel didn’t push her. 

He wouldn’t force her to decide now. No matter what she chose for the future, he wouldn’t interfere. 

But at this moment, he just wanted to express his true feelings to Sofia. 

He wanted her, that was his most firm thought. 

“Okay,” Sofia said with a smile. 

No more words were needed; they understood each other’s hearts. 

Nathaniel regretted not being able to get up. 

If he could, he would have hugged Sofia tightly, expressing his feelings through his embrace and kisses. 

Seeing his thoughts, Sofia laughed, “Don’t move around, or you might end up back in surgery. I can’t guarantee you’ll be fine.” 

Nathaniel caught the hint of her threat and smirked, “Alright, I’ll listen to you. I won’t 

move.” 

“Rest for a while. I’ll get you some food and check if Grandpa is awake so he can come see you,” Sofia said. 

“Okay,” Nathaniel agreed, but his eyes were glued to Sofia’s face until his neck reached its limit and he couldn’t see her anymore.
