Chapter 1381

He sighed and said, “Then, she left Westchester and went back.”

As soon as the words subsided, things went quiet.

Odell looked down and saw her soundly sleeping with her beautiful eyes closed.

She might still appear weak, but she was a lot better when he had seen her outside.

His gaze turned warm as he stroked her cheek before his eyes slowly closed and his mind wandered off to dreamland.

When her eyes opened, it was already night and there was only a warm lamp left on in the room.

Odell had woken up before she knew it and was reading a book by her side.

When he noticed her open eyes, he went up to place his hand over her forehead and then took her temperature using the medical thermometer.

38° Celcius.

Sylvia’s eyes brightened. “The fever has gone down.”

Odell frowned. “38° Celcius means you are still having a fever.” She was by no means recovered yet.

Sylvia chuckled. “It’s better than it was in the morning.”

Odell’s gaze shifted. “Hungry?”

Sylvia nodded.

“What do you want?”

“I want grilled meat,” she said after a quick thought.

Odell glared at her. “Something light.”

Sylvia pondered. “Why don’t we go out and have a walk? The night view here is quite attractive, and there’s a lot of good stuff to eat.”

“It’s cold outside. We’ll go when you get better,” he said flatly but indubitably. There was no way he would let her go out in such a condition.

Sylvia laid back down with a disappointed look. “Then, get something that I can eat. I’ll just simply fill my stomach.”

Sylvia chuckled. “Mommy misses you guys too. Where did you guys go today?”

Isabel replied, “Mommy, we went out with Ben and Jacob today. Flint got surrounded by a bunch of girls the moment he entered the theme park, so Liam and I went off to play on our own.”

Flint denied, “No, Mommy! I wanted to follow Isabel, but she ran away too fast! She dragged Liam away and I can’t catch up to them!”

Flint voiced his grievance as his voice grew softer.

Isabel interrupted, “Mommy, he’s lying! I dragged Liam

and him together, but he slipped away and went back to the girls!”

Flint yelled, “No, Mommy! I didn’t! They ran too fast, so I couldn’t keep up. That’s why we got separated.”

The sister and brother’s bickering amused Sylvia.

The two little rascals were great entertainment.

Just when Isabel sounded like she was about to teach Flint a lesson, Sylvia interrupted and said, “Okay, Mommy got it. Isabel and Liam didn’t leave Flint behind, and Flint didn’t slip away to find some girls on purpose, right?”
