“Are you here to help her with work?”

“No.” Carl narrowed his eyes in a curve. “I’m here to see her.”

Sherry furrowed her brows.

Before she could glare at Carl, John asked, “See her? Are you here to inspect her work then?”

“No. I’m just here to keep an eye on her so that she won’t go looking for men behind my back.”

John pursed his lips.

The atmosphere in the room somehow got awkward.

Sherry glared at Carl. “Carl, you better shut-”

“Are you two having a relationship? Why would she go looking for other men behind your back?” John asked, interrupting Sherry.

Carl narrowed his eyes further and locked eyes with John. “Master John, you have no idea. Sister Sherry here is actually my future wife.”

The atmosphere plunged into dead silence.

Only Caprice’s munching could be heard.

Carl ignored Sherry’s furious glare and continued locking eyes with John.

John stared at him coldly. A moment later, he curled his lips. “Future wife? Are you engaged?”

Sherry wanted to curse out loud, but Caprice was in her arms. She did not want to give the girl a bad influence. She stared at Carl and said, “Carl, can you just shut up and eat? Stop talking nonsense.”

“I’m not talking nonsense. My mom sees you as her future daughter-in-law, and she even said if you marry me, the company will be ours in the future. Did you forget about that?” Carl said with a smile.

Sherry choked on his words. She instantly felt a pair of ferocious and gloomy eyes looking at her from the side through the golden–framed glasses.
