Chapter 1849

Caprice had known Liam her entire life but this was the first time she had ever seen such a vicious glower on his face. She shrunk into the corner and stayed silent.

President Michael glared at the two of them like a feral animal. “You two know each other? Hmph, then I suppose I’ll have to deal with both of you!”

As he said this, he turned to his subordinates who were gathered behind him and commanded, ” Get them! I’m going to make sure they know not to mess with me, especially this little b*tch over here! I’m going to teach her a lesson!”

Caprice clung on desperately to Liam.

This was the first time she had to deal with such a dangerous individual.

Liam held on to her tightly. He stood tall and bold, completely unfazed by the screaming man.

A sharp gleam of ice appeared in his eyes.

The aura he radiated had such a chilling effect that the men felt a shiver run through them.

Before they could charge him, Liam’s bodyguards along with the security forces at Elysian House showed up at the scene.

They were all larger and more muscular than President Michael and his subordinates.

President Michael and his subordinates hesitated when they noticed the odds stacked against them and promptly screeched to a stop.

“You…don’t you get in my way! I’m a VIP here!” He jabbed a finger at the security guards and wailed like a child.

The security guards looked at him, completely unintimidated. They did not fear him or his measly authority.

It was immediately apparent that they were on Liam’s side. They could hardly be bothered about an inconsequential VIP like President Michael.

A look of panic flashed past his eyes as he took a cowardly step back.

He took a second look at Liam and suddenly felt an inexplicable wave of fear and nausea overtake

him.

What was the deal with this young man?

He took a deep breath to compose himself, then he glared at Caprice who was hiding beside Liam. “Little b*tch, this is your lucky day. You better watch out, if I ever see you again, I won’t let you off the hook!”

With that, he retreated to his private box.

His subordinates scrambled back to join him.

His driver and his bodyguards did not follow him. It was only the two of them inside the car.

His voice was authoritative and impossible to disobey.

Caprice muttered in a low voice, “I… My superior was the one who brought me here. He said he was going to take me out to dinner. I didn’t expect it to turn out to be something like this.”

“Superior?” Liam looked at her harshly. “What do you mean by that? What kind of superior?”

There was no other way around this other than to confess. Caprice steeled herself and admitted, ” I found a part–time job as an administrative assistant in a certain company.”

Even with the scarce lighting, she could tell Liam’s face had darkened by yet another shade.

He asked sharply, “Aren’t you supposed to be spending your summer break at home? When did you find a job and come back to Westchester?”

Caprice shrunk into a ball. “I…I didn’t want to laze around at home.”

If that was the case, why did she turn down the offer to intern for him back then?

Liam took a deep breath. “Does Uncle John and Auntie Sherry know about this?”

Caprice answered hesitantly, “They don’t.”

She could feel the air grow physically thicker when she said this.
