Caprice ground to a stop.

Besides, Heather was still Liam’s girlfriend. She could not directly confront her.

The top priority at the moment was to help the Rockons out of their looming crisis.

Moses took this to imply that Caprice had taken his advice, and he remarked, “This is not something that can be easily solved. I think the best solution is to have Piper’s parents come forward and have a proper conversation with Heather’s father.”

Caprice frowned sharply.

If Heather had manipulated her father to sabotage the Rockons, that meant she had never cared much for Piper’s parents, to begin with.

Besides, this was shaping up to be the investment of a lifetime for the Mansons. Who would pass up the opportunity to make ten billion by just investing a billion?

Caprice reached for her phone.

Ten minutes passed, but there was still no word from Sylvia. Considering the time difference, she was probably still sleeping.

“Caprice, there’s another solution,” Moses suddenly proposed.

Caprice was eager to listen. “What solution?”

He looked at her sharply and said, “The owner of Carter Technology City-he should be able to persuade the Mansons to call off the deal and show some mercy to the Rockons.”

Her eyes sparked with hope for a brief instant before the light faded out again.

Upon seeing her troubled expression, Moses asked, “You’re very close to him. Why wouldn’t he help you?”

Caprice muttered, ‘I don’t know.”

Heather was Liam’s girlfriend, thus she was not sure if Liam would take her side instead of Heather’s.

It did seem like he was the only one she could turn to, given the way things were.

She wrestled with her thoughts for a while before turning to Moses. “Moses, I want to thank you for coming to me about this. I have some things I need to deal with now. See you.”

“You’re welcome. If you need help, you know you can always come to me.”

The ringtone rang several seconds before the call was connected. She spoke nervously, “Liam, are you busy?”

“No,” he spoke curtly.

Caprice took a deep breath and braced herself. “I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“I… Something happened to this friend of mine. He was going to work on a project with VV Entertainment but things turned sour. VV Entertainment tried to set them up.” She told Liam about how VV Entertainment laid a trap of a penalty of ten billion dollars in the contract. She also left out the part whereby Heather had orchestrated the entire thing.

After hearing the story, Liam suggested, “So, you’re saying you want me to talk to VV Entertainment and get them to nullify the contract, is that it?”

He spoke in a calm, stoic voice.

Without the slightest tic of emotion.

Caprice murmured, “Yes, can you help me?”
