Brielle had regained her strength, her face glowing with determination.

"Until I uncover the truth, I won't let myself fall apart again. Plus, Max left me a number; he probably has some secret connections."

Brielle was genuinely bouncing back. She knew she had to dive into the investigation without delay. The Lynch family had showered her with so much care; it was time she took on some responsibilities.

"Get some good sleep tonight. Aubree and Keiran might stick around for a couple more days before they leave. Maybe you can catch up with friends. Your recent state had us all worried, especially Aubree. She was practically whispering on the phone."

She headed upstairs to rest.

Dustin watched her ascend, his heart finally settling down.

He quickly dialed Raymond, who, despite his tough exterior, seemed jittery and paced back and forth.

"Are you sure? She's okay? So, can I come see her now? Lil' J, you've been keeping me at bay. Be honest, are you trying to hog your sister all to yourself?"

Dustin rubbed his temple, a slight frown on his forehead.

"Dad, she might not be ready to face you yet. Maybe start with sending her some gifts, cheer her up. Let's take it slow on the meeting."

"But your grandma already went to see her, didn't she?"

Raymond sounded almost whiny, a sight that would astonish anyone familiar with his usual stern demeanor.

"Dad, you can visit, but remember how you only managed to get her ring discounted before?"
