Mated To Big Brother-in-law Chapter 174
Chapter 174
Sophia went back to the company and checked if the meeting was over. She saw many Alphas
coming out of the conference room.
“Alpha Bryan is a clever man. Ever since the beginning, he had his sights set on the Moon Valley
Pack.”
"What can we say if Alpha Victor has no problem with it. It is hard for me to believe that he went
along with the deal. I wonder why he did that."
"Maybe he has something in his mind. Otherwise, why would he agree to give up like that?"
"Let’s just trust him."
Sophia cast a glance in the direction of the men who were walking by her while they were
discussing the agreement that had taken place inside the meeting room.
Sophia stood outside until she saw Bryan coming out of the room.
With a broad smile on her face, she walked over to him.
"Alpha."
Bryan looked at her and gave her a nod. In case he felt fatigued, she wanted to give him a head
massage.
But again, they were in front of others. She could not say anything to him.
She waited for them to enter Bryan’s cabin together. Bryan was about to go over the desk when
Sophia hugged him from behind.
"Mate, you didn't wish me today."
Bryan turned around, causing her to release her grip.
"Wish?"
"It's my birthday today."
Bryan appeared to be surprised. Sophia felt a twinge in her heart.
He was unaware of it.
"Happy Birthday, Sophia," Bryan said, turning calm.
There was no excitement in his eyes, which caused her to feel hurt.
Despite the fact that she had not expected him to surprise her, she hoped to see him eager to wish
her well.
Sophia hugged his torso and asked,
"What were you discussing inside the meeting room?"
"Something important to the pack."
Sophia raised her head to look at him. He was silent, but his eyes were fixed on hers. Her pulse
quickened as she looked into his sharp eyes.
"If you don't want to share, it's okay."
"It's not that important."
Having released her grip on him, Sophia uttered, "Okay."
She wanted to tell him that she had met with Alpha Victor. The last thing she wanted was for him
to become angry with her once more or for there to be any confusion between them either.
She observed him making his way to his desk and engaging in some activity there. After he had
finished using his laptop, he approached her.
"I'm going to the pack house. I will drop you off at your home."
Sophia parted her lips in shock. Because he did not even think about doing something special to
celebrate her birthday.
She was very upset as she lowered her head. Why did he want to go back to the pack house? Was
that because of Mila?
When Bryan was headed to the door, she spoke out,
"I have made a reservation at a restaurant for tonight. Will you accompany me?"
He turned to her and replied,
"Tonight? I need to go to the pack house."
She lifted her gaze to look at him. "Why? Is that because of her?"
Bryan’s eyes darkened. "No."
"Then? You don't like to go there often. Then why tonight?" she asked with a sad tone.
A sigh came out of Bryan's mouth when he noticed that she was upset.
"Let's go."
Bryan left the cabin, leaving her behind.
Sophia came dangerously close to crying because he was so eager to get away from her. Her
birthday did not seem important to him.
She exited the cabin and began to follow Bryan in his footsteps. She tried her best to control her
tears.
With her head low, she entered the elevator with him.
During the time that they were strolling through the entrance area, Sophia observed that a few
Alphas from the Moon Valley Pack were still present outside the building.
They saw Bryan and immediately bowed to him. He did not even bother to nod his head in their
direction.
She gulped at how arrogant Bryan had just behaved toward them.
Bryan's car was parked outside. So when the driver saw them coming, he emerged from the car
and opened the back door for him.
Bryan motioned for Sophia to get in first. After entering the car, she moved to the side. Bryan sat
next to her and closed the door.
Sophia felt that she should not have come with Bryan. She did not want to go back to her home
right now.
"Tell him the address," Bryan spoke out.
"Huh?" Sophia asked, turning her head at him.
"What? Didn’t you want to go to the restaurant you reserved?"
Sophia bit the bottom of her lip as tears began to form in her eyes.
She told the driver where the restaurant was and hugged Bryan.
"Thank you, Mate."
Bryan wrapped his arm around her body. “I didn't know it was your birthday. Over the past few
days, I have been preoccupied with something.”
Thinking about whether or not to ask him about Mila, she tucked her hair behind her ear.
The last thing she wanted to do was ruin Bryan's mood. She recalled that she had already
confessed to him.
He was talking to her calmly after knowing that she had feelings for him, and that meant he
indeed loved her.
The car stopped in front of a restaurant. She got out of the car and waited for Bryan to come out.
When Bryan stood next to her, she locked her arm with his and walked inside the restaurant.
She went to the reception to talk about the reservation.
A waiter arrived to show them to the table that she had reserved in advance.
"This way."
The waiter led them to a balcony outside, where they were able to take in the breathtaking
scenery.
It came as a surprise to Bryan when he saw that the table had been attractively adorned with
flowers. Everywhere he looked, there were roses with hearts on them.
Even though he was frowning, he did not make any comment.
Sophia signaled him to sit at the table, and then she took the other chair.
Sophia had placed all of her orders in advance, so the dinner went smoothly.
After they had dinner, Bryan asked for the bill.
Sophia shook her head and said,
"I've paid the bill in advance, Mate."
Since it was Sophia's birthday, the restaurant made arrangements for her to receive a lovely cake
as well as a bouquet of roses.
Sophia looked happy when she noticed the waiter bringing them to their table. She got up from
the chair in excitement.
Bryan got to his feet and remarked,
"Cut the cake."
Sophia did not touch the knife. Instead, she looked at him and took hold of his hand.
"You could not answer me last time. I wanted to know your reply, Mate."
"What answer?" Bryan asked with confusion.
Sophia let go of his hand and grabbed one small bouquet of roses from the table.
Bryan's face was indifferent, but he looked like he realized what she was talking about.
After taking a few deep breaths, Sophia extended the roses to him. She closed her eyes and said,
“Alpha Bryan, I love you. Forever and ever, will you be mine?”
Bryan did not say anything, which caught Sophia off guard.
Without opening her eyes, she wore a frown. But then she heard him.
"Open your eyes, Sophia."
She opened her eyes slowly, filled with a sense of bewilderment. The roses, which he had not yet
accepted, caught her attention as she looked at them. Then her gaze shifted to him.
"Why are you talking about such meaningless things again?"
"M-Meaningless?"
Sophia's heart shattered.
Bryan let out a sigh and then turned around.
"We are getting late. Come on."
She hurried over to him and grabbed his arm.
"What do you mean by meaningless? How many months did you spend with me? What brought
us together in the first place? Don't you also love me?"
His expression grew icy as he locked eyes with her.
“No, I don't love you. You have the opportunity to be with me because you are my mate.”
