Sophia was so shocked that she did not know what to say.
What exactly did he mean when he said he postponed the engagement? Even though he was

Her legs started to tremble. She felt the ground slip beneath her feet.
With a taste of betrayal unlike anything anyone had ever experienced, she fixed her gaze on the
man.

existed among them.
Her eyes moved away from him as they slowly lowered to the ground.

She was unable to speak anymore. Indeed, this man was ruthless.

When Bryan spoke, a fire of agony was ignited within her heart. She raised her eyes slowly to
look at his face.
She smiled at him regretfully. "You used me knowing that there was no future for us."
Bryan's eyes shot a sharp glare at her. "This is what women have a problem with. When exactly
did I use you? Didn't you want that to?"
Sophia shuddered at his harsh tone. By saying that, he proved that he thought of her as just
another woman. The woman who did not have anything to do in his life except fulfill his desire.
Sophia had no strength to even talk to him right now. She wanted to go somewhere and cried her
heart out.
How could fate play with her like this? At first, his brother, and now he... How could they break
her heart like that?
"Stop crying," Bryan said, watching her tears fall down her cheeks.
As she wiped away her tears, she sobbed. "I am not crying for you. I am laughing at my own
fate."
Bryan kept staring at her for a while. When he saw her continue to wipe her tears, he spoke out.
"You are too fragile to comprehend the world of royal politics. The world is full of power and
authorities. If you get so weak, how are you going to survive?"
Sophia's hands froze on her cheeks. She looked at him.
"Y-You are right. I am weak. That is what your brother told me as well."
She recalled the day when she caught Bruce cheating on her. That day, she wanted to complain to
Bryan about how brutal his young brother was.
Little did she know, the man she wanted to complain to would be the most ruthless man she had
ever met.
"You played with me," she mumbled, crying a mess.
He frowned at her. "Calm down. What are you so worried about?"
Sophia had no idea how she would deal with this man. She was completely clueless. He had been
with her, knowing that he would never accept her. But now he was saying to her that she had
nothing to worry about.
She would not allow him to hurt her in the same way that his brother had.
She wiped her tears again and shook her head.
"I can't let you marry her. I can't let you engage with her."
After saying that, she stepped toward him and held his hands.
"Please cancel the engagement. Don't do anything with her. You are my mate. How can you do
that to me? When you postponed it, I know you never considered being with me. But now look at
us. We are happy together. Don't we? Just cancel the engagement and stay with me."
Like a crazy girl about to lose everything, she was blabbering.
She did not know when she had fallen in love with him, to the point where she was terrified of
losing him. She could not live without him. He was her life, her everything, and she cherished
him so much.
She wished for him to remain by her side for a lifetime.
Bryan grabbed her hand and removed it from his wrist. He glared at her and replied,
"There is no one in this world who can stop it. I will announce the engagement soon. If everything
goes as planned, my pack will be the largest, outweighing the Moon Valley Pack."
Sophia shook her head numerous times. "Don't do this to me. I can't live without you, Mate."
He lifted his hand and wiped her tears away with his thumb against her cheek.
"I will not abandon you. There is no need to worry. Everything will remain the same between us."
His touch no longer felt warm to her, but rather cold.
His words shook her from the inside.
"Why? Why is she so important to you that you can't make another woman your Luna except
her?"
After turning around, he removed a pack of cigarettes from his pants pocket. He lit a cigarette.
Smoking was the only thing that could calm his mind.
He inhaled the smoke deeply but slowly before he started speaking.
“Her father, Alpha Lucas Laurant, made the marriage proposal a long time ago. As soon as I
marry his daughter, he will give me half of his throne.”
