Sophia's wolf howled inside her in anguish. Her wolf wanted to shift and ran to her mate, asking
why he was doing that to them.
Sophia's heart turned into stone. It was her last limit.
Bryan had pushed her to her limit. Now there was no way for her to keep the love inside her.
All of her hopes crashed, and all of her pain became numb.
"Why so cold, woman? Where is your reaction? I thought I would offer you my shoulder to cry
on. Well, I can call you a woman now. You don't seem to me like that same naive Sophia anymore.
This Sophia is something else that your mate is missing."
"Ex-mate," Sophia replied.
"What?"
"He is no longer my mate."
Victor frowned when he heard that. "Did he reject you? How is that even possible?"
Sophia looked into his eyes calmly. There was nothing going on in her mind. Everything was
blank.
It was as if she could finally focus on the outside world. Otherwise, she was living in her
imagination all these times.
"I don't consider him my mate anymore."
Victor's brows were raised by her response.
"Why are you both standing there? Dear, sit down." Sophia's mother's voice rang through the
living room.
Sophia immediately looked away from Victor and stepped aside from the couches so that her
mother could place the tray of coffee cups on the tea table.
Victor sat down, looking at Sophia.
Sophia's mother sat on another couch and asked,
"Dear, what is your name?"

"Alpha Victor." Sophia interrupted him and replied to her mother.
Her mother's eyes widened as she got up from the couch immediately.
"Alpha Victor? The head Alpha of the Moon Valley Pack?"
Her hands began to shake. It was good that she was not holding any cups; otherwise, the coffee
would have spilled out of the cups.
Victor stared at Sophia. She folded her hands across her chest and said,
"There is nothing to hide."
Victor averted his gaze from her and focused on Sophia's mother. "Stop reacting like that. I'm not
going to kill your daughter."
His cold voice caused Sophia's hands to loosen. "You can't talk to my mom like that."
He returned his gaze to her and replied,
"That's why I don't tell anyone about my identity. They are terrified, as if they will pass out. You
shouldn't have told her about it."
Sophia looked at her mother. "Mom, he came here to talk to me. Don't worry. He won't hurt me.
You can go and take some rest."
Her mother grabbed her hand and pulled her behind her.
"What will you talk to my daughter about? She is innocent. Please leave her."
Sophia had no idea why her mother was reacting that way. Perhaps she had also heard of his
autocratic kingdom.
"Mom, calm down."
Her mother turned around and shook her head. "No, Sophia. Go and call your brother. We are not
safe here. He will kill us."
Sophia was already in a terrible state. Her mother's words made her feel annoyed. But she was her
mother; she should make her understand calmly.
"Sophia, you are still too young to understand these Alphas."
"Mom, I am not a kid anymore. Please let me talk to him. He is my friend. Do you remember the
time when he came for me to drop me off at home? He won't hurt me."
Her mother reflected on the day and realized that Victor had indeed come to drop Sophia off at
home.

about you. You must be a nice person since you are good to my daughter."
He heaved a sigh and nodded his head in her direction. He gave Sophia a quick glance and then
said,
"I'm waiting for you outside,"
After saying that, he walked out of the house.
Sophia's mother felt embarrassed for reacting like that. But she was afraid that the rival Alpha had
come here to kill them because they were members of an official's family.
"I still don't beli–"
"Mom, please relax. I have met him several times. "He has no intention of hurting me."
"How do you know him?" her mother inquired, glancing outside the house.
"It's a long story. Let me talk to him first before he gets angry again."
Sophia's mother did not want her daughter to go, but she had no other choice. Her son was not in
the house to protect them.
Sophia closed the main door behind her and walked toward Victor. He was leaning against his car
while smoking.
Sophia stopped at a distance and asked,
"What do you want to talk about?"
Victor looked at her and replied,
"Come with me."
"What?"
"Come with me to my pack. I will give your mother a good life there. Your brother can stay here
as the Gamma. You and your mother can stay in my pack with some dignity and respect."
Sophia stared at him without replying.
"Sophia, think about it. I'm leaving this pack tonight. If you want, you can join me. I don't know
when I will come here again.”
"Victor Laurant," Sophia muttered, and she stepped toward him.
The smoke from the cigarette did not bother her nose anymore. She seemed to have gotten used to
it.
"I, Sophia Berge, don't want to be anyone's slave anymore."
Victor's eyes froze. Sophia could see that he did not expect the answer.
"I know what you want. I can't help you. Since you told me I was his pawn, I don't want to be
your pawn either."
"So you want to stay here and watch his betrayal every day with that bitch?" he asked with a sharp
tone.
She nodded her head. "Yes. I will remain here and watch him betray me. His betrayal will help me
grow stronger. I want to see how long he can go. Because..."
She paused, and a smirk appeared on her lips, which stunned Victor. Then she continued,
"Because at the end of the day, he can't reject me. If he does, he will lose his position as the head
Alpha. That time I will make him realize how powerful the woman he wanted to make his
mistress was."
Her smirk slowly faded as her face turned fiercer in anger.
"I will pull the bond so hard that it will tear apart his arrogance.”
