Mated To Big Brother-in-law Chapter 208
Chapter 208
Sophia stared at the gate for a while after Bryan left the terrace.
Her eyes blinked when she realized how lonely she was. As the fresh tears rolled down her
cheeks, the tear marks that had previously dried out on her cheeks became wet once more.
The corners of her mouth trembled, and she started laughing. She turned around to look at the
moon.
"Did you see his arrogance? You made him this arrogant. Why did you give him such power that
no one can shake him for once? Why?"
She wiped her tears away as she recalled every word that he had said to her before he left her
here.
She scoffed at his words. "Backstabbing? I am backstabbing you by revealing your business
information to others. Then what are you doing? Were you not also backstabbing me by playing
with me and hiding your intention to marry another woman? And what about now? keeping the
matebond a secret from others in order to marry the daughter of your rival and increase your
power?"
Lucas Laurant used to be Harry Morrison's biggest rival. But suddenly, he wanted to end the
rivalry and wanted Bryan to marry his daughter. People assumed he thought he would never get
another powerful man like Alpha Bryan for his daughter.
Both of the packs believed he made a very wise decision.
With her head resting on the railing, Sophia thought about her life.
"Sophia."
When she heard Sara's voice, she stood straight, wiped her face, and turned around.
She saw Sara and Nolan entering the terrace. She walked to them and said,
"Yes?"
"Let's go?" Nolan asked.
"Sure."
Sara glanced at her face when they came out of the terrace and headed to the lobby area.
"What happened?" Sara asked.
"Nothing," Sophia simply replied to her.
When they came out of the hotel, Sophia's steps halted.
Something caught her attention. She saw Bryan's driver opening the backdoor of his car. Bryan
stood beside Mila as she climbed into the car.
They looked like a perfect couple. People around them were admiring them with awe in their
eyes.
Sophia let out a deep breath and turned her gaze away from them.
As soon as she felt a pang in her chest, she closed her eyes, realizing she had not let go of her
feelings for that man, but the pain lingered inside her, and she could not bear the thought of him
with another woman.
"Don't look at them," Sara said, holding Sophia's hand.
She dragged Sophia toward Nolan's car and opened the backdoor for her.
Three of them got inside Nolan's car and left the hotel.
The whole ride turned silent after Sara and Nolan both said sorry to Sophia for what had
happened in the hotel. They told her that they had no idea Bruce and Bryan were coming tonight.
Sophia told them she was okay. She then leaned back on the seat and closed her eyes.
She wanted to reach home as soon as possible. She was worn out, and her desire to ruin Bryan
was no longer as strong in her heart.
Nolan and Sara dropped Sophia off at home. She went inside the house and checked on her
mother. She was soundly sleeping.
Sophia went upstairs to her room. As soon as she opened the door, she saw her brother sitting on
the bed.
She gulped as she noticed his mood was not so fine. She slowly closed the door behind her and
muttered,
"Brother?"
Abraham raised his head, his dark gaze meeting hers. He realized his sister did not feel good
because of his angry face, so he tried to calm himself.
"Sophia, come here," he said softly, patting the bed beside him.
She slowly stepped toward the bed and sat next to him.
"You are my only sister. You know how much I love you, don't you?"
Hearing his question, Sophia turned her head and looked at her brother.
"Brother, why are you saying this?"
"I'm your brother. You are aware that I will never want something bad for you."
She lowered her head and nodded her head in response. He lifted his hand and caressed her hair.
“Please stop what you are doing, Sophia. It will only hurt you later. You are not a little girl
anymore. You are a dignified woman. You should not do something that will harm your
reputation. What you are doing right now is just expressing your anger. You are running after a
man who doesn't want to be yours. There is another woman in his life whom he has wanted to
marry for a very long time.”
She had his hands clenched around the bedsheet when she heard him. Her eyes turned blurry in
tears, but she tried her best not to let them out of her eyes.
"You are right," she uttered.
Abraham felt bad for his sister. He hugged her and patted her back.
"Please don't be upset. I didn't mean to hurt you. But it's true. Chasing the head Alpha is not a
great idea. It seems that he is constantly giving you opportunities to stop betraying him. He
possesses the ability to kill each and every one of us in the blink of an eye. I don't want you to get
hurt. The fact that he is kind to us is a stroke of good fortune, and he is watching out for us. He
had to give up projects worth millions. What will you do if he catches you and demands a return?"
Sophia shuddered inside. Her brother was right. Though she never left any evidence, what if he
caught her?
Would he force or blackmail her to become his mistress? Or what if he came after her brother?
She shook her head at that thought. Abraham thought she agreed with him. He stroked her hair
and said,
"I talked to Alpha. He said he would not take any action against you."
Sophia hugged her brother back. She needed that hug. She was feeling too lonely and felt
heartbroken again. Her brother was like her mental support.
She was about to say that she would do her best to avoid Bryan for the sake of the family.
However, she froze when she heard her brother's next words.
“Alpha said he would talk about the matebond after the upcoming party. Perhaps now he has a
chance to break it.”
