Sophia's hands froze. She did not move her gaze from her plate, but she paused eating after
hearing Abraham.
"Why is he coming into our pack again?" Hanna asked.
Sophia slowly turned her head toward her mother. It was as though her mother felt her gaze on
her. She glanced at her.
"I mean, is there anything special?" Hanna asked with a chuckle.
Sophia realized that her mother remembered that she and Victor were friends. That was what she
had told her one year ago.
"He is coming to attend the upcoming pack party. He and his father are the main guests at the
party, though his father's appearance is not rare in our pack. Alpha Lucas comes to our pack
almost every two months. But Alpha Victor's arrival is different."
After hearing her brother, Sophia put the spoon on the plate and looked at him.
"And why is that?"
Abraham gazed at her. After last night's conversation, it was the first time she spoke with him. So
he gave his full attention to her and replied,
"It's because he is the head Alpha of—"
Sophia shut her eyes in irritation and interrupted him by saying,
"Yeah, yeah. The head Alpha of the Moon Valley Pack. I got it. He has a lot of work to do in his
pack and all. So he never got the time to visit our pack."
Abraham shook his head in denial. He joined his veiny hand, which demonstrated the years of
training he had received to become the gamma. He rested them on the table and responded to her
seriously.
"You are wrong. I don't think he has much work to do. He is just a man of... Well, nothing to say.
But one thing is for sure. He and Alpha can not stay in one place."
Sophia raised a brow and asked,
"Why? Is your Alpha afraid that he will go to snatch his pack from him?"
Their mother let out a gasp when she saw how Sophia asked the question. Her tone was harsh and
full of mockery. It was evident that she had no respect for her head Alpha.
"Sophia, you can't talk like this. Why would any other Alpha do that? Our Alpha is strong enough
to secure our pack from our enemies."
Sophia frowned as she turned to face her mother. "Mom, his enemies are not our enemies. And
maybe you don't know, but he is the one who is going to snatch someone else's half pack, which
he does not even deserve."
"SOPHIA."
With a yell, Abraham got up from his chair. Anger glowed in his eyes, making them fierce. The
way she spoke about his Alpha infuriated his wolf.
Compared to betas, gammas were different. While Betas were the best friends of the Alphas,
Gammas were the ones who shielded them.
Sophia stood up in anger. "Brother, you yelled at me for that man?"
Abraham balled his fists and tried to calm down. "Don’t dare speak disrespectfully about him
again."
Sophia clenched her jaw as she felt hurt by his words and actions. In her opinion, she had not said
anything wrong. Bryan did not deserve what he was going to get.
"Keep supporting that man. Don’t forget, you are fighting your sister for him."
Hanna looked shocked as she stared at her two children. They used to bicker a lot in the past.
However, it was the first time she had witnessed them fighting like that.
"You two, what's wrong with you?" she asked.
Abraham looked at his mother, realizing he had almost forgotten she was there with them.
On the other hand, Sophia kept her gaze fixed on Abraham. She stared at him with angry eyes.
The pain was clearly visible behind them.
Abraham glanced at Sophia and let out a deep breath.
"I am sorry, Sophi. I was just feeling over protecti–."
"Don't. You don't have to apologize for anything. Do what you think is right, and I will do what I
feel is right for me from now on. Don't come to me for another person again, brother. It just
clicked for me. You chose that man over your sister."
She was hurt. She was in disbelief that he had allowed his wolf to take control and threaten her.
A while ago, when she saw his glowing eyes, her wolf growled inside. But she controlled herself.
It was because she was his little sister. She did not want to disrespect him in any way.
"Sophia, what's going on with you? You have never talked to your brother like this before. Say
sorry for your brother right now," Hanna said, getting up from her chair.
Sophia looked away from Abraham and turned to her mother. "Mom, you are sick. Get some sleep
after accompanying him. I am going back to my room."
"But you haven't finished your food yet."
Sophia smiled at her mother sadly. "Mom, I am not hungry anymore. I am sorry if I hurt you.
Good night."
She dashed upstairs, leaving the other two people at the table. They stared at her with different
looks on their faces.
"Abraham, what happened to Sophia? She was never like that."
Abraham wanted to leave the table as well. But when his eyes returned to his mother, he
prevented himself from doing so.
He sat back in his chair and responded with a shrug of his shoulders.
"She is just mad at me. But she needs to know she can't disrespect the man who is the owner of
her pack. If today all of us are living in this pack with security, it's only because of him."
Meanwhile,
Sophia shut her bedroom's door loudly in anger. She did not want to be a crybaby who cried in
every situation, but she was deeply hurt.
Her brother loved her so much but because of that man, today he talked to her like that. For a
second, he seemed to have forgotten she was his sister.
"Bryan Morrison, everything is happening for you. How cleverly you have turned my brother into
your side so that there will be no one who can go against you. But I am not a fool. I am aware of
all of your plans."
She walked back and forth to control her anger. However, she is having difficulty controlling her
rage these days.
Her eyes turned blue as she muttered,
"I hate you, Bryan Morrison. Even hearing your name makes me hate you. You are nothing but a
burden on my fate. I will remove you from my life."
As she muttered her frustration, her phone vibrated on the nightstand.
She glared at her phone as if it were a person. She grabbed her phone and saw a bunch of missed
calls from 'Adon'.
She noticed a message pop up on the screen. She first changed his name to Victor, then read his
message.
"If you don't come to the airport to receive me tomorrow, I will come to your house directly."
Her rage did not ease, but a thought crossed her mind. A grin appeared on the corner of her lips as
she thought,
'Alpha Bryan, I am not qualified to become your enemy, right? Who can be better than Alpha
Victor to prepare me for that qualification?'
Then, with a heavy heart, she replied to Victor’s message.
"I will be there for you."
