Mated To Big Brother-in-law Chapter 54
Chapter 54
Third POV
Sophia entered Bryan's office. After making her way to the desk, she observed Bryan working
with a large number of files.
Bryan lifted his head and asked,
"Why are you late? I was asking other employees about you."
Sophia was stunned. She recalled those women's conversations and lowered her head.
"I had an extra class today. So I came here after attending it."
Although Sophia made an effort to place the cup on the desk, she was unable to do so since there
were so many files on the desk.
"I want you to set up all the files and work on a few of them." Bryan said as he stood up from his
seat.
‘Was this the reason he was asking for me from other people?’ Sophia thought to herself as she
gazed at him.
Bryan walked to her. She did not take her eyes off of him. She had developed a familiarity with
him over time. It was a struggle for her to adjust to being in his presence.
Bryan stretched out his hand and touched the cup. It was as his fingers lightly touched hers that
she felt her heart begin to beat more quickly.
She gulped and handed him the cup.
"Your coffee," she mumbled and turned to the desk.
Following a thorough examination of the files, she started organizing all of the files in the
appropriate order.
Bryan made his way to the couches and seated himself on one of them. He sipped the coffee while
leaning his back against it.
As he enjoyed the taste of the coffee, he closed his eyes. It was not that hot, but he glanced at
Sophia, who was busy working, so he did not tell her to warm it up. He let her work.
His eyes were fixed on her. She leaned down on the desk, collecting the folders. His eyes
emphasized each of her movements.
Meanwhile, Sophia clasped all the files together and kept looking for their numbers. She saw a
few projects from some different packs. She remembered that she sent mail to those packs’ Alphas
yesterday.
She turned her head to grab one file when her eyes fell on Bryan, who was looking at her.
She swallowed her breath when she saw him drinking the coffee without breaking eye contact.
Those women's words kept replaying in her head. She forced herself to avert her eyes from him.
She felt his gaze lingering on her while she was working.
When she was done with her work, she stood straight and let out a deep breath.
"Done," she mumbled with a smile when she saw the clear desk.
She turned to Bryan, who was still looking at her. She blushed under his intense gaze.
"Alpha, may I know in which file you want me to work?"
He stood up and walked past her. She glanced at him. He pointed to three folders and said,
"I want you to read the files for me. After reviewing the files, you have to inform me about their
problems."
Sophia immediately moved the folders away from others and held the files close to her chest.
"Got it."
She turned around to leave the cabin, but his voice paused her.
"Where are you going?"
She turned to him and replied, "To review the files."
He signaled for her to go to the couch. "You can sit there and work. I want you to continue
notifying me of the problems."
Sophia glanced at the couches. She was no one to say no to him. He was the boss. So, she sat on
one of the couches and began to review the files.
He also resumed his work while sitting in his chair.
Sophia started to tell Bryan about the problems she found with the projects. She saw a few, tried
to set up some, and then read it for Bryan.
An hour passed, and Sophia was still in one file. An employee came to the cabin to deliver
Bryan's lunch since he liked to eat at his office.
Bryan moved to the couch and asked Sophia to join him. At first, she was hesitant. But when
Bryan told her that it came from the company, she joined him.
She felt the food was really delicious. She realized that Bryan did not like spicy food very much.
She got to know about his taste.
After having lunch, both of them returned to their work.
Time flew by while working the whole day. Sophia placed the last file and stood up. She got a
backache from sitting the whole day on the couch.
She gave Bryan a quick glance. He was working on his laptop. She realized today that they had
spent half of the day together. She looked at him carefully. In spite of the fact that he was
concentrating on his work, he appeared to be heavenly attractive.
All of a sudden, he caught her gaze. She looked away from him immediately.
"Alpha, I am done with the files. Should I print the new papers?"
He shook his head. "You can do that tomorrow."
A bright smile reached her face. "Really?"
"What's there to be happy about? Do you think escaping from work is a pleasure?"
"No, no. I am going to do that right now."
She wanted to go back to her cabin to print the new papers, but Bryan stood up, which stopped
her.
He grabbed his suit jacket, which was resting on his chair.
"Let's go."
Sophia was shocked. "Where?"
He frowned at her. "Don't you want to go back to your home?”
After a quick check at the clock, Sophia became aware that it was already late in the evening.
They were both working late hours. It was later than usual.
“Oh, yes. I have to go back home. Mom will be worried for me.”
After stating that, Sophia walked to the door. Bryan followed her behind.
As soon as Sophia opened the door of the cabin to leave, she gasped, looking at the man who was
standing at the door.
“Bruce?”
Bruce looked at her. Sophia had already opened the door before he even had a chance to knock.
Sophia tried to retreat a step, recalling their talk from earlier this morning. Her body slammed
back into a firm chest.
She slowly turned her head to look at Bryan, and then she sent another glance in the direction of
Bruce, whose gaze shifted toward his brother. They were both staring at each other.
“I'm leaving, Alpha,” Sophia murmured in a lower tone, thinking to leave the two brothers alone.
