Chapter 243

I didn’t say a word.

Instead, I slapped him hard across the face. His head jerked to the side. My palm stung like hell, but I didn’t regret it–not for one

second.

He blinked, slowly turning back to face me. His cheek was red.

“You selfish, heartless bastard!” I hissed, “How could you? How could you do that to me? You switched my birth control pills, Kester! What the hell is wrong with you?!” I stepped back, “You didn’t even ask me. You took that choice from me. Do you even realize how disgusting that is?”

He didn’t even flinch. His eyes narrowed.

Then–so casually it made me nauseous–he asked in the calmest voice ever, like it was the most natural question in the world, “So you’re finally pregnant?”

I blinked at him. My heart felt like it just cracked in two.

“Is that all you care about?” My voice broke. “You ruin me, and the only thing you give a fuck about is if your little plan worked?”

He didn’t answer. His expression was totally unreadable.

I shook my head, bile creeping up my throat. “You’re sick.”

“You’re pregnant?” He asked again, as if he hadn’t heard all I just said.

I swallowed hard and looked away, too disgusted to respond. My silence must’ve said enough.

“Mine…” He stepped closer, but I pulled back.

“Don’t. Don’t touch me. Don’t talk to me. Don’t even breathe in my direction,” I spat, shaking my head. “You don’t get to call me Mine anymore. Not after this.

I turned to walk away with my heart racing, but his hand shot out and gripped my wrist, “Are you carrying my child, Kasmine?? His voice was lower now. That mask of concern was gone. His real voice was showing now. The one that scared me. The one that reminded me he always got what he wanted, no matter what.

I yanked, but he didn’t let go.

“Answer me.”

I looked him dead in the eye. “Yes. I’m pregnant,” I whispered. “And I’m getting rid of it.”

That made something shift in his face. His eyes instantly darkened, lips pressing into a hard line. That calm mask cracked, and underneath it, I saw the real Kester.

I ripped my wrist from his grasp, glaring at him, “I don’t think, Kester. I know. It’s my body. My life. You lost the right to have a say the moment you used me like some fucking incubator!”
