After dinner, Laker escaped his townhouse with Ostana in his arms, claiming that he had ‘pressing issues’ to deal with - though I am pretty sure the only ‘pressing issue’ was in his pants; leaving Emrys and I alone with each other. He sat on one side of the couch, me on the opposite and in front of us, some Netflix show played mindlessly on the television, my fingers busy texting my mom.
Mom, 8:39 pm: How was your snow day?
Me, 8:39 pm: Good… How’s June?
Mom, 8:40 pm: ? Annoying. Hardly anything happened but she's acting like she almost died
Me, 8:41 pm: ??
“Celeste?” Emrys’ velvety voice drew me away from my phone and upon looking up, I was surprised when I noticed he had scooted closer - not by much but noticeable. Tonight his black locks were perfectly messy, golden skin flawless, and his scent seemed stronger though that might only be due to my heat…
“Yeah?” I couldn’t stop the rouge that kissed my colourless cheeks from the way his stormy eyes softened every time he and I met our eyes.
Nervously, Emrys scratched the nape of his neck, moving his eyes from the tv and back to me. “Are you bored?”
I let out a laugh. “I guess so,”
Enjoying the way his own cheeks warmed with red, I could feel new waves of heat pulse through me; it was like when you are in front of a fire, the flames of red, orange, and yellows licking their up to the sky only to fall short and cry out in ashes. That warmth of wanting something that you cannot have, making the warmth turn into a fiery need that eats one from inside out.
“C’mon,” Emrys smiled as if he was a young child and praised for just speaking, his lips tilting upwards with mellow. “I know a place.”
*
I was speechless…
Above us, splatters of golds, silvers, and coppery tones littered the jet blue and inky sky, clouds of grey nonexistent, and a full moon illuminated the park where we now stood; trees to bushes hugged the area as buildings grew behind them. A gush of cold wind rushed past me, blowing my blonde locks behind me, and a sudden warmth met my hand.
“Do you like it?” A smile grew onto my lips and I could feel his tender stormy gaze watch me carefully as if he was scared I wouldn’t, but Emrys knew me too well.
I nodded and looked over to him, giving him a reassuring squeeze with my hand. “I love it,”
Getting lost in each other's eyes, I couldn’t help but take a step closer to mate, getting his scent of cedar and rain blessing my nose, letting the sparks dance over my skin with every passing second, and my breath got caught in my throat.
Goddess, he is flawless…
“How do you feel?” Emrys asked, letting his other hand grasp mine, standing in front of each other, our hands intertwining; just his touch made my heat simmer down, letting me gain control over myself and what urged me to mate with my mate.
“Honestly, I feel good right now… Not too hot, not to- ya’ know,” I let out an awkward chuckle, red painting my cheeks, and to avoid any more embarrassment about the zapping pleasure that wished to pool between my legs, I let my eyes wander past the God of the man in front of me and look towards the warm lighted Wexford light.
