Did Kath say that she wanted me to be her mate and she didn't want anyone touching me? A smile started to form on my lips and I stopped to linger in me.

That was funny, seeing her being surprised by her own words. Maybe the bond is starting to grow even though she doesn't know that she's my real mate. I know it is not possible because I haven't touched her with my bare hands. I always wear my gloves to protect my secret regarding my mate. Once she finds out, she might cause a problem for me.

But even though I was surprised by what she said, I still had to make sure she deserved the position of being my queen.

I almost touched her and kissed her. If it wasn't for my iron-clad self-control, she would surely know that I'm really her mate. I looked into her brown eyes and kissable lips. I bet no one had ever tasted it before. Her frame fits mine and I can feel her heartbeat getting faster when I'm near.

This trick of the Moon Goddess surely kills the heck out of me.

Damn this mate bond. It's started to make me feel attached to her. The moment I saw that Loui was going to throw that dagger at her heart, I automatically panicked. I jumped from my office window, then ran to catch the dagger on time.

I swear if she does it again, I'm going to kill her, regardless of who she is.

I can still remember the way she dodged all Loui's attacks and managed to hit her face. She has hidden fighting skills. After all, she was a fighter and the daughter of an Alpha. She has the ability to win this tournament. I just don't get why her father hides that information from everyone.

I looked out the window. Her vanilla rose scent still lingers in my office. It calms my body after being stressed about finding this Alpha Rouge. It seems he manages to create an army of rogues.

One of my problems is how they stole gold from the mining area. It looks like they have a spy here in the palace.

'King Zeus, rogues on the southeast border, are attacking one of our candidates in the tournament.' Tyler said.

'What the hell is that female fighter doing there and who is she?'

'It's Katharina from Aluri----' I did not let him finish his words. My wolf is getting frustrated and worried, knowing her mate is in danger. I almost shift while making my way, but I control myself not to let it happen. My wolf will surely take over and might kill any man near his mate, even my own fighters. When that happened, I did not know how to explain my behavior to everyone. I might even touch her in the process.

I reached them in no time, searching for my mate. I saw her positioning herself in the middle while surrounded by seven rogues. Why is she alone there and why are my fighters just watching?

'What the hell are you all doing? Why aren't you attacking?' I shouted to all of them using our link.

"Zeus, it's oka., Katharina told us to stand still and let her deal with those rogues. It helps her. She said that it would be part of her training," Tyler explained.

But I didn't concentrate on his explanation. I look at her and admire her confidence in the middle of seven rogues. I swear if anyone tries to hurt her or I see any wounds in her body, I will kill them myself.

My wolf is also waiting for them to attack. He also wanted to see his mate fight.

"You think you can beat us all bitch?" One of the rogues said.

I growled at the word he called her but held myself. Tyler is looking at me, I can't let him suspect my relationship with Kath. And we don't have a relationship to start with.

"I don't have to think, I know I can beat all of you, so stop chatting and give me your best shot." She said.

At her words, they all attacked her at once, but she didn't even flinch and just closed her eyes and, as if I am watching a movie in slow motion, she started to fight.

She dodges all of their attacks at once and finds her way to kick their butts. She holds the rogue's neck and twists it while his feet hit the other one. She lunges into the other rogue and with just a twist of her hand he cut the neck of it, then she turns to dodge and grab the hand of the rogue who, attacked her from behind and broke it in an instant. Now there are three wolves alive, she looks at them smirking.

It's something I don't know about Kath, she really is a fighter.

"Stop staring at me, you imbecile! Attack." She shouted.

They all look at her and realize that they can't beat her, so they run away.

Oh no! No rogue can leave my land alive.

"Tyler, kill them," I said, then Tyler and the other warriors followed the three rogues who were trying to escape.

She looks into my way and bows slowly. Inside of me is getting attached to her and I admire her strength and courage to fight those wolves.

"Go back to the castle and clean yourself. Dinner will be served soon." I said to her.

She just shrugged and ran back into the packhouse. I know she's nervous in my presence but I don't know why.
