Kent tried to get back up and continue his rampage, but the security team swarmed him, pinning him firmly to the ground. They twisted his arms behind him and secured them tightly before hauling him away.

Selena was equally shaken. She stayed nestled in the man's arms for about half a minute before her senses slowly returned.

Suddenly, she had a thought and quickly lifted her head.

The man in front of her was refined and elegant. Yet, at this moment, his eyes were filled with genuine concern and nervousness, a far cry from his usual calm demeanor.

It was Dr. Campbell!

A fleeting look of disappointment crossed Selena's eyes, but it vanished almost immediately, replaced by surprise. "Dr. Campbell, what are you doing here?"

As she spoke, she straightened up and stepped out of his embrace.

"I was here for a conference and decided to visit a mentor. I had just left the room when I saw you."

Callum explained briefly and then gave her a thorough once-over. She had minor scrapes on her hands and feet from dodging Kent’s attacks. His voice still carried a hint of worry, "Apart from your hands and feet, are you hurt anywhere else?"

"No." Selena shook her head gently, feeling grateful. "It's really a stroke of luck."

The thought was still frightening. Kent had been like a madman, and each swing of his knife targeted her vital spots. If she had been hit, she might not have made it out alive.

Callum took a few deep breaths, quickly suppressing any visible emotions, and said, "Let's go. I'll help you take care of those wounds."

Selena didn't want to stick around, so she nodded. "Okay."
