Selena’s face turned a bit pale, a sheen of sweat forming on her forehead, but she only let out a quiet groan, teeth clenched tight, not giving him the satisfaction of a reaction no matter what he did.

When it was finally over, Selena exhaled deeply, her body drenched in sweat as if she’d just climbed out of a pool, making her earlier shower feel like a waste. She tried to push him away to take another shower, but Everett didn’t budge.

Confused, she opened her eyes to him, her voice raspy as she said, “I need a shower.”
