Everett didn't say a word and just gave a slight nod of his chin. "What do you reckon?" he asked with a knowing look.

Selena got it immediately.

She flashed him a grin and gave him a thumbs-up. "Mr. Everett, you never fail to impress!"

Still, Everett wasn't entirely satisfied. His dark eyes narrowed with intent as he remarked, "Rebecca should be grateful she's part of the Bennett family."

Everett gently tilted Selena's chin up, his fingers brushing her lips. "Does this seem unfair to you?"

Though his words seemed unrelated, Selena understood the underlying message.
