Selena's eyes welled up with tears, genuinely furious at how Everett could be so shameless, acting as if everything could just carry on as usual.

"Everett, get away from me! I don't want you!" she shouted, pounding his shoulders and chest with all her might, trying to release the pent-up grievances, hatred, and anger that had been building up inside her.

Everett held her close, allowing her to vent on him, while he kissed the corners of her tear-streaked eyes, his expression a mix of pleasure and sympathy.

For the past month or so, Selena had been distant, only engaging with him when it came to their child. She wouldn't talk to him or even give him the time of day. It left him not just unhappy, but genuinely worried.

Selena wasn’t usually like this. She was someone whose emotions were clear and strong, a vibrant woman full of passion. Her numbness was only because she had bottled everything up inside.

He didn’t change positions much, but the whole process was incredibly patient and teasing.
