Selena pursed her lips, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. "What if I was just making a fuss over nothing?"

Callum shook his head with certainty. "You wouldn't."

Her eyebrows rose in surprise. "Really?"

"You're just not that kind of person," he replied with a knowing smile.

Selena was taken aback. This was only their second encounter, and they barely knew each other. How could he be so sure about her character?

Sensing her skepticism, Callum continued gently, "Sometimes, you just know."

A warm sensation spread through Selena’s chest. It was amazing that even after such brief meetings, he could see her true nature.

Most people, including her husband Everett, would side with family over fairness. Even if Everett had witnessed the earlier incident, he'd surely have backed Rebecca.

But Callum was different; he valued fairness over family ties.

He was a real breath of fresh air in their social circle and so much better than that jerk, Everett!

Selena’s appreciation for Callum soared, and she said sincerely, "Thank you for believing me."

A sleek black Rolls-Royce Cullinan rolled up the driveway, and Everett stepped out, his long strides quickly covering the ground.

Rebecca rushed over, clinging to his arm, her voice full of indignation.

"Selena's lost it! She came and started giving me attitude, then deliberately spilled red wine all over me. She embarrassed me in front of my friends. You have to set her straight, or I'll never live it down!"

Everett paused, looking down at Rebecca, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "What did you do to her?"
