His voice was so gentle, as if he were handling something fragile. “Who upset you? Tell me, and I’ll sort it out.”

Selena buried her face in his chest, her hands clenching instinctively. If she could, she’d knock some sense into this clueless man and send him packing. But instead, she took a deep breath, forcing down the storm of emotions. In no time, she regained her cool, pushed against his chest, and stepped back.
