His long fingers rhythmically drummed on the armrest as he listened to his team's updates, though his mind was clearly miles away.

As the meeting wrapped up and everyone shuffled out, he rubbed his temples, feeling the weight of the day. He opened a drawer, pulled out a small pillbox, and shook out a couple of pills, washing them down with some water.

Noticing this, Alex stepped forward, placing the meeting notes on the desk with a touch of concern. “Mr. Everett, you really should take care of yourself.”

With a dismissive wave, Everett assured him he was fine. Alex could tell he wasn’t in the mood to discuss it further, so he let it go. But then he remembered the urgent message he’d received earlier.

“Mr. Everett, we've just received word that Yasmine is missing from France. I checked with the airline, and it seems she flew back a few days ago!”

Picking up the phone, Everett dialed the villa's number. After a few rings, Ava answered.

“Where’s my wife?” he asked bluntly.

“She left right after you did,” Ava replied honestly.

“Did she mention where she was going?”

“No.”

Everett hung up, his jaw set tight. “Find out where Selena went. Now,” he commanded, his voice cold.
