When Holt saw them, tears welled up in her eyes, and her voice trembled, "Mr. Everett, how is she... how's she doing?"

Everett didn't have a second to spare for explanations. He pushed open the door to a room and, while striding inside, instructed Alex to call Callum and get him to bring the meds pronto.

Alex nodded and immediately started dialing.

With a loud bang, Everett shut the door behind him and headed straight for the bed. He intended to lay Selena down, but she looped her arms around his neck, instinctively nuzzling closer, her red lips brushing against his, trailing kisses along his cheeks and neck.

The woman of his dreams was right there, all passion and allure.

His breath caught, and he felt a surge of heat course through his body.

Everett leaned in, pressing her gently beneath him, yet he clung to a thread of restraint and reason.

He held onto his pride, unwilling to take advantage of the situation.
