Everett's face was stormy. He insisted, "It’s a buddy of mine, not me!"

I mean, Derick’s girlfriend feels overlooked, left out, so she’s throwing a fit to get Derick to shower her with attention."

Everett tapped his fingers on his glass, lost in thought. Then, with a cryptic air, he asked, "And if we’ve done all that, and she’s still not budging?"
