Selena was left speechless. “Mr. Everett, may I remind you, it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet.”

He responded as if it was the most natural thing. “Exactly, you’ve been mulling it over for almost 24 hours. Haven’t made up your mind yet?”

Selena didn’t want to entertain this any longer. “If there's nothing else, I'm tired and need to get some sleep.”

Soon after, her phone buzzed with a message.

[Selena, don’t take too long to think about it.]

Selena chuckled, placing her phone face-down on the table, and settled in with a book.

The next morning, feeling recharged, Selena headed off to work.

Before she knew it, dusk had crept in.

Holt stepped into the room, asking, “Miss, would you like to order in for dinner, or would you prefer to eat at home?”

“Let’s do dinner at home.”

Selena gathered her files, picked up her bag, and headed downstairs with Holt.
