Rhett gave a sad smile, “If… if you said you loved me, I’d accept this child and face it with you. But if you don’t, I don’t know if I could get over it, or if my feelings might end up hurting you.”

“I mean, I care so much for you now, and it feels like anything’s possible. But people change, and men especially—we have flaws that don’t just disappear.”

He knew himself too well. “Selena, we started beautifully, and I’d like to end things the same way. Let’s break up.”
