Selena brushed past the front passenger door Everett had opened and instead slipped into the back seat of the car.

Everett was momentarily stunned.

Selena glanced up at him with a smirk that didn't quite reach her eyes. "What? Didn't you say you wanted to be my chauffeur?"

Everett sighed, "Alright, alright, I'm your chauffeur!"

This woman, she never let anything slide.

Still, a little sass was better than being completely ignored. So, the esteemed CEO of Bennett Corporation, Everett, dutifully took on the role of driver.

Once he settled into the driver's seat, he playfully asked about the air conditioning and what speed she preferred.

Selena couldn't be bothered to respond. She turned her head to gaze out the window at the scenery whizzing by, but a hint of a smile tugged at her lips.

During Selena's ultrasound, Everett stood by her side, eyes glued to the screen. Even though he knew the tiny form on the screen wasn't his child, he felt a strange fondness.

After the check-up, Everett quickly moved to help Selena, crouching down to gently slip her shoes back on before carefully assisting her off the bed.

The doctor, noticing Everett's attentiveness, couldn't help but tease, "Is this a new dad? So nervous about his wife."

Selena shot Everett a sideways glance, musing that calling him a new dad wasn't too far off.
