Selena snapped back to reality, offering a faint smile. "Oh, nothing."

She took a sip from the bowl and noticed Callum's absence. "Grandma, where's Dr. Campbell?"

"Callum mentioned he needed to get back to work with his group, so he couldn't stay for dinner. He just left."

"That makes sense," Selena mused, knowing he was there with his medical team and couldn't be away too long.

Noticing Everett's absence, Grace asked, "Selena, where's your husband?"

"He's feeling a bit off. He’s not used to the climate. Said he wasn't hungry and went to rest."

"Is it serious?"

"Not at all, Grandma. He's strong. Some water will do the trick. Let’s enjoy our meal!"

With that, Selena called Marian over, "Marian, come on, join us. I'm determined to finish all this today!"
