Chapter 234
“Do your best today, my good brother–in–law!”
Beatrix knew what Claudette was plotting, of course. She hastily walked over
to them and snatched Emmanuel’s attention away.
When everyone heard her referring to Emmanuel as her brother–in–law, they
were shocked.
Elizabeth was surprised, too, as she said, “He’s your brother–in–law, Beatrix?”
Emmanuel hastily explained, “No, it’s a misunderstanding. We’re bros, and she
thinks it’s funny to call me her brother–in–law. I’m not married to her sister!”
Beatrix smiled as she remained silent. Mackenzie is right–this guy is a fool! If
he was not my brother–in–law, I wouldn’t have called him as such now, would
I? He’s so dumb, but I have to say, he’s fun to play with as well.
When Claudette saw that scene, she knew Emmanuel wouldn’t be able to
help her out anymore.
The boys standing before her were sons of wealthy families in Yeringham,
and she had a faint impression of them.
The tall and broad one was named Isaac Lane. His brother used to be
Claudette’s classmate.
Isaac had met Claudette before and had fallen in love with this gentle and
reserved beauty at first sight.
He even pursued her before, but she rejected him in a roundabout way by
joking and saying that he was still a brat.
Now that he was 20 years old, he was a brat no more. When he saw the
woman wearing such bold clothing today, he swore that he would win the
heart of the idol in his youth.
Claudette knew the boy beside Isaac as well. His name was Jonathan
Verkade, and they had met at the banquet before.
Initially, he was aiming for Beatrix, but the latter always rejected him. Now
that he saw Claudette exuding a more feminine aura while wearing slightly
revealing clothes, he felt that Claudette should be easier to get than Beatrix.
Hence, he decided to try his luck.
Not only that, Jonathan always had this narcissistic view that he looked good,
and he even secretly wondered if Claudette would want to do it with him.
At the thought of sharing a bed with this woman who had a back as white as
walked up to Emmanuel, saying, “We’ve already agreed to form a team with
the four of us.”
The corners of Jonathan’s lips twitched even more violently.
Isaac had an upset expression on his face as well. Where did this man come
from? He has snatched away the three prettiest divas. What chances do we
still have?!
Still, Jonathan was an expert at flirting. He always went out and fooled
around at night, so he knew a lot of tactics. He quickly smiled and said, “After
the game of laser tag, Mr. Lane and I will treat everyone to a meal. So, I
suggest we don’t break into so many small teams for laser tag; just two
teams will do. Does anyone have any objections?”
No one did.
No one dared to, either.
Everyone knew that Isaac wasn’t one to be messed with; after all, he was
rumored to have connections among the higher–ups in Yeringham.
