Chapter 31 

For this rare genetic disease, Charlie had specially invested in the medical industry and spent a lot of money to set up a laboratory. It could be said that these two injections were developed for Eugene and had not been put on the market yet. 

Kamryn’s heart ached. 

But she also knew that Eugene was lucky. 

She looked at Eugene and suddenly thought of what Charlie had said. 

He said that he would pay any price to save Eugene.

This was a father’s deep and heavy love.

Seeing the complicated expression on Kamryn’s face, Charlie said, “If you’re willing, I can give you anything, including houses, cars, and even shares of Glorise Consortium. But if you’re unwilling, don’t worry, I won’t force you.” 

“Mr. Franco, I won’t ask for anything. The reason why I hesitate is that… 

After a pause, Kamryn looked down at Eugene and suddenly felt sad. “I got pregnant before, but unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. She fell silent. 

Charlie was an outstanding man. Any woman would be tempted by such an offer. 

To her, it was a great thing to become his wife. 

But she was not happy. 

She understood that Charlie didn’t really love her when he proposed to her. They hadn’t known each other for long, so they had no feelings for 

each other. 

It was nothing more than a kind of protection for her. 

In some ways, Charlie looked cold and indifferent on the surface, but he was actually so kind. 

He was protecting Kamryn. 

If she was willing to give birth to a child for him and save Eugene, he would at least protect her from criticism. 

After all, marriage is the greatest honor for a woman. 

“Mr. Franco, are you serious?” 

Kamryn really wanted to know if he would take this marriage seriously. 

She didn’t want it to be a nominal marriage. 

Charlie pursed his lips and gently rubbed the edge of the cup with his slender fingers as if he was thinking about something profound. After a long time, he said in a deep voice, “I have no concept of marriage, but I will do my best as a husband.” 

“Got it.” 

Kamryn said seriously, “I’ll think about it carefully.” 

“Daddy…” 

In Kamryn’s arms, Eugene looked at Charlie in confusion. “What do you mean by ‘get married‘?” 

Charlie took a sip of coffee and suddenly explained, “Getting married means that two people will live together all the time.” 

Instantly, Eugene’s eyes lit up. He buried his face in Kamryn’s arms and hugged her with both hands. 

Charlie raised his eyebrows. “No, you can’t marry her.” 

Eugene pursed his lips and turned around unhappily as if questioning silently: “Why can’t I?” 

Kamryn almost couldn’t hold back her laughter. 

She gently scratched the tip of Eugene’s nose. “Do you want to marry me?” 

Eugene pursed his lips and nodded hurriedly. His bright eyes were full of eagerness. 

Charlie stopped him from fantasizing again. “Forget it!” 

Eugene seemed to have been discouraged. He suddenly turned his head, made a face at Charlie, and snorted. Obviously, he wouldn’t listen to Charlie. 

The father and son were at odds. 

Kamryn said mischievously, “Mr. Franco, how about I marry Eugene when he grows up?” 

Charlie’s face darkened. 

The difference between a wife and a daughter–in–law was too big. 

For the first time, Eugene said, “I’m going to marry Kamryn!” 

He wanted to marry her. 

Charlie asked, “Let her be your mommy, okay?”
