Chapter 37 

On hearing that, Nicole glanced at Jenna and asked in a cold voice, “Who are you?” 

The words made Jenna embarrassed. 

She could be considered to hold a high status as a famous actress and the daughter–in–law of the Sexton family. 

However, she couldn’t compare with Nicole, who was born with a silver spoon. 

She was no different from other commoners in Nicole’s eyes. 

She had only had one precious chance to meet Nicole, the well–known president of the Impride Corporation, at a charity party in the company of Wyatt. 

Jenna managed to put on a smile despite the embarrassment. “Miss Duarte, it’s been a while since we last met at the charity party. I’m Jenna. Do you remember me?” Her tone was humble and flattering. 

As she spoke, she felt very nervous. 

She was afraid that Nicole, a noble lady, would forget her long ago. If so, she would feel very embarrassed. 

Despite that, Jenna still wanted to butter Nicole up because of the latter’s power and influence. 

She could get into a higher class among the celebrities even by just building a shallow relationship with Nicole, which absolutely would benefit her 

a lot. 

Fortunately, Nicole had a memory like an elephant. She had a recollection of meeting Jenna before. 

“It’s you, Miss Ramsey. Nice to meet you.” 

Nicole gave a slight nod with an impassive face. Obviously, she didn’t take Jenna seriously. 

Jenna bit her lower lip and felt even more embarrassed. “Miss Duarte, may I ask what you’re doing here?” 

“Do I look like someone who would rush here for nothing serious?” 

Nicole replied icily, impatient. 

She was in a meeting when the police called her and told her to come to the police station to assist in a theft case involving a big sum of money. Nicole was puzzled until she was told that the case was about Kamryn. 

The police also told her that Kamryn was being suspected of stealing a 400–thousand Hermes bag from the crew but she denied it. 

The case was then brought to the police. 

Kamryn told the police that the bag was given to her by Nicole, and it was not Jenna’s bag. 

In order to verify her words, the police, thus, informed Nicole to come to assist with the case. 

That annoyed Nicole. 

For the sake of Charlie, she gave her favorite bag to Kamryn a few days ago despite her unwillingness. 

She didn’t get any benefit from it, and she even lost her face in front of Kamryn during the meal later, which made her frustrated. 

And now, she was summoned to the police station from her work because of Kamryn. 

All these adding together pissed Nicole off, and she looked even grimmer.

Jenna’s politeness was greeted by Nicole’s cold attitude. Yet she could only smile awkwardly. 

Sitting beside her, the agent and assistants who came with her to make statements had no idea who Nicole was. They secretly observed her and could tell that she was an extraordinary woman, judging by her Chanel outfit, delicate makeup, elegant demeanor, and the fact that she had come with two assistants. 

“Jenna, who is this lady?” 

“She is Miss Duarte, the president of the Impride Corporation.”

She would disgrace the whole Sexton family if the news spread. 

Wyatt’s parents already have a problem with her. She had worked hard to maintain the peace of the family.

Originally, she just wanted to defame Kamryn and give her a hard time on the set. But to her surprise, Kamryn was so tough that she called the police.
