Miles wasn’t fazed. He glanced at Ashton and defended him. “I’m confident Mr. Drake will resolve the issue and keep his private matters separate from work. Besides, the security team is also at fault for allowing the trespassers in. This incident isn’t entirely Mr. Drake’s responsibility.” 

Logan’s face turned red with anger. He hadn’t expected Miles to stand up for Ashton so openly, and it was clear he felt humiliated. 

“The amusement park is under my management now,” Miles continued calmly. “So you can leave the rest to me, Mr. Logan.” 

Miles’s words were a clear indication that Logan had overstepped his authority. 

Logan was fuming. If anyone else had said that, he would have thrown them out without a second thought. But because it was Miles, he restrained himself. 

“Fine,” Logan snapped. “But if something like this happens again, you’ll face the consequences too.” 

With that parting threat, Logan stormed off. 

As soon as he was gone, I let out a sigh of relief. 

Miles turned to Ashton and said, “I’ll need a written report detailing today’s incident. As for the damaged facilities, I’ll have the technicians repair them, but you or your company will be responsible for the costs.” 

It was a fair and reasonable solution, and Ashton agreed without hesitation. 

Miles nodded and left without sparing me a second glance. I knew he wouldn’t have defended Ashton if it weren’t for me. His feelings for me were evident–restrained yet undeniable. Knowing he had 

opposed Logan for my sake filled me with guilt. I didn’t know how to repay him for what he had done. 

The matter resolved, I decided it was time to leave. 

As I drove out of the amusement park, Logan’s car suddenly swerved in front of mine, blocking my path. 

He stepped out, walked over, and climbed into my passenger seat without a word. 

“Drive,” he ordered coldly. 

I frowned. “What do you want, Mr. Mercer? I need to get back to work.” 

“Just drive!” Logan snapped, pulling at his collar in frustration. 

Knowing arguing with him would get me nowhere, I tightened my grip on the steering wheel and asked, “Where to?” 

“Just drive!” he barked again. 

Resigned, I started driving. With no clear destination, I decided to head toward the Mercer estate. 

Logan quickly caught on. “I didn’t tell you to drive me home.” 

“And you didn’t tell me not to,” I retorted. 

Logan let out a frustrated sigh. “What do you want from me, Elaine? You saw it yourself–Ashton’s trouble. Those punks didn’t hesitate to destroy Mercer Corporation’s property. That shows how
