Around noon, Nina was sitting in the conference room, doing nothing except getting bored. However, she wasn’t prepared for it when someone came behind her and squeezed her shoulders in excitement.

"Valerie!" She placed her hand on her pounding chest, "What got into you?" She asked rolling her eyes.

For some reason, Valerie’s face was beaming when she took the nearby seat.

"Nobody is telling where they all have gone," Nina gestured towards the empty seats, "Or they are staying back home today?"

"They have gone to White Palace, Nina," Valerie squeezed her eyes, "Let’s go there together."

She tried to hold Nina’s hand, but she freed it and observed Valerie’s face for a moment, "I’ve already seen it with Andrew. You go ahead."

"Oh, come on, Nina. It must look different during the day. No?" she at once got up and started pulling Nina’s hand, "Let’s go, Nina. Get up!"

Nina groaned but didn’t move. What would she do in the White Palace? It was too late now to realize, but Marissa had won.

The event was taking place in the White Palace. Just like Marissa wanted.

Nina didn’t want to accept it but deep inside, she knew, Marissa had taken the lead this time. She tried so hard to convince Andrew but now he had blocked her everywhere, leaving her with no way to reach him.

Noticing how stubborn Nina was behaving, Valerie stepped back and placed a hand on her hip, "Nina. You need to come with me. Don’t you want to know the details?" she said with a meaningful smile.

Nina furrowed her brows, and her eyes moved to Valerie, "What details?"

Valerie started chewing her inner cheek and shrugged. Nina found mischief in her eyes, "Valerie. I’m in no mood for such riddles now if you’ll excuse me I..."

"I went to Dr. Sophia’s place!" Valerie announced.

"What? Where?"

"Remember? Dr. Sophia? Marissa’s friend? I went to her place?" Nina was on her feet in an instant and held Valerie’s arms, "What happened?"

Valerie removed her hands gently, "Why don’t we go to White Palace together, and then I’ll give you all the details on the way?" There was a sly smile on her face.

"You must be out of your mind!" Nina hissed in the back seat while Valerie was still smiling, "You went there, and Sophia wasn’t home. So why did you invite me for this outing? There weren’t any details to share at all."

"Calm down, Nina," Valerie patted her lap, "Sophia wasn’t home, but her grandfather was."

"So? What should I do about it? Or are you trying to set me up with him?"

"Urgh! Nina!" Valerie was on the verge of giving up, "Can you let me speak?"

Nina didn’t wipe the scowl off her face and folded her arms on her chest.

"I went to Dr Sophia’s place and to tell you the truth, I was expecting better. As a gynecologist, she should be making enough money to afford a decent place. Instead, it seemed to be a very small house, and the neighborhood wasn’t impressive either..."

Valerie turned her head to watch Nina, "The old man told me that no one was home. Marissa has already shifted to some other place, and I think he was talking about Rafael’s hotel. She has taken her daughters too along with her," she then leaned back her head into the seat, "Do you know what else he told me?"
