“It seems that all of you have already made your decision,” Izzy said, placing her coffee cup back on the table. 

The room was tense. Seated around the long conference table were Weiss Inc.’s most influential board members, CEO Weiss sat at the head, his fingers pressed together as he observed the situation. Cecil was on the other side of the table, her posture rigid, her hands clenched into fists on her lap. Calen sat beside her, stiff and silent. 

Izzy exhaled, leaning back slightly in her chair. “I really didn’t want to make this personal,” she continued, her fingers drumming lightly against the table. “But certain people seem determined to push me to the edge.” 

CEO Weiss shifted, glancing at the others before speaking. “The videos and recordings you provided were…. very interesting.” He looked at Izzy. “Extremely detailed, too.” 

Izzy smiled. “It’s not every day that someone willingly exposes their own dirty little secrets, right, Mrs. Weiss?” Her eyes flickered toward Cecil. 

One of the board members adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat. “I must say, today has been quite the eye–opener.” Another nodded in agreement. 

Cecil’s entire body was rigid. Her jaw was so tight it looked painful, and though she was clearly seething, she didn’t say a word. She could no longer meet Izzy’s eyes. 

Izzy couldn’t blame her. After all, in just a few short minutes, she had systematically dismantled Cecil and Calen’s entire scheme in front of everyone. 

The emergency meeting had started with Izzy calmly placing her phone on the table and playing back a recording of Cecil threatening her in the 

that she marry Calen or face a lawsuit.

Then, she showed them the video of Monica and her in that café. 

She followed it up with proof that Calen had attempted to arrange an abortion for Monica in Nevada. The documents were there, and the transaction history was clear. He hadn’t been trying to protect Monica–he had only ever been trying to 

control her. 

The room had been silent when the videos ended. 

Now, with everything laid bare, CEO Weiss leaned back and looked at the board. “Now that everyone knows the truth, we need to make a decision.” 

A few of the board members exchanged looks. “Naturally,” one of them spoke. “We cannot simply fire Calen. His personal matters, as deplorable as they may be, do not fall under company policy.” 

“But he should be suspended,” another added, nodding firmly. 

Cecil’s head snapped up. “You can’t do this.” 

CEO Weiss turned to her, his expression cold. “Everyone here knows that you and Calen tried to use the company to pressure Izzy into doing your bidding. You involved Weiss Inc. in your personal vendetta.” He exhaled sharply. “We cannot turn a blind eye and pretend this didn’t happen,” 

One of the older board members adjusted his tie and spoke up. “If we do nothing, we risk a lawsuit. Miss Rossi has more than enough evidence to sue all of us for allowing this situation to escalate within the company.” He gestured toward Izzy. “And we would have no defense.”

CEO Weiss nodded. “I’m not going to let you drag everyone down into the mud just because you were selfish, Cecil,” 

Cecil’s nails dug into her palms, but she said nothing.

“HR will let you know the details. The company will issue a statement, shutting Monica’s claims. We will not offer support to someone like her. For now, let’s adjourn this meeting. I believe everyone has been really stressed after everything.” The CEO got up first and marched out of the room without waiting for anyone to say a word. 

One after another, the board members got up and left, leaving Izzy, Calen, and the defeated Cecil behind. Izzy looked at them, a smile playing on her lips. 

“I told you I had evidence,” Izzy said. 

“You are going too far, Izzy,” Calen said. Just like his mother, he had been momentarily speechless when he saw everything. 

“Too far? This is far from being too much, Calen.” Izzy lifted an eyebrow before she snorted. “You know I was planning to reveal this to the media, right?” 

“You-” 

“What? Were you expecting me to just sit here while everyone bashed my name? Do I really look like a clown?” 

“What do you want?” Cecil suddenly asked. 

Izzy smiled. “I don’t understand what you’re talking about.” 

“I will give you anything just so you do not have to reveal the video online.” Doing that would ruin her son’s name! Not only would this affect his future relationships, but it would also make a lot of people doubt him! In the business world, connections and risks were everything. How would anyone trust Calen in the future if his personal life was a mess? 

Izzy tilted her head slightly, feigning confusion as she repeated. “I don’t understand what you’re talking about.” 

Cecil’s fingers curled into fists. “Don’t play games with me,” she snapped. “How much do you want? Name your price for the evidence.” 

Izzy blinked before letting out a soft chuckle. Then, as if the mere thought was too amusing, her chuckle turned into full- blown laughter. She clutched her stomach, shaking her head as if she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. 

Cecil’s jaw tightened. “I’m not joking.” 

Izzy wiped an imaginary tear from the corner of her eye, still grinning. “Oh, I know. And that’s what makes this so entertaining.” 

Cecil’s lips thinned. This proof could ruin everything. It wouldn’t just tarnish Calen’s reputation–it would jeopardize his entire future. No prominent family would let their daughter marry someone like him. In the business world, connections and images mean everything. If this got out, no one would trust Calen again. His marriage prospects, his position in society, even his ability to secure high–profile deals–all of it could crumble. 

“I’ll pay whatever you want,” Cecil said, forcing the words out. 

Izzy’s smirk didn’t waver. “Oh, I know you would.” She leaned forward slightly. “But that’s the problem. It’s not for sale.” 

Cecil’s breath hitched. “That’s ridiculous. Everything has a price.”
