That evening, at the end of a workday for Creative Arts Corporation, Shawna was driving her car out. She stopped at the security booth for a while.

Poking her head out, she said, “Let’s go, Dustin.”

“It’s not the end of my shift yet,” Dustin said.

“It’s fine. Let’s go.” Shawna looked indifferent.

“Devina Angelis?” Shawna recognized the woman. Devina was a good friend from high school. They were not really in contact anymore.

Devina lifted the hem of her skirt and ran over to her. By the time she reached Shawna, she was panting.

“Shawna, what’s up with you? You don’t reply to any messages in our alumni group chat or answer any calls,” Devina said while still out of breath.

“What?” Shawna was a bit surprised.

She had muted that group chat a long time ago. When she checked her phone, she found that it had been turned to silent mode at some point. There were many missed calls from Devina.
