Everyone in the private room was laughing except for Simone and Dustin. They were laughing so hard that some were even breathless from it.

The laughter was mocking.

Dustin was not known for being mild-tempered. There was no way he would remain unaffected by other people laughing at him.

“Do you think it’s very funny?” he asked coldly.

Seeing how peculiar he looked, the others finally stopped laughing.

“Do you think it’s hilarious to make fun of someone’s past?” Simone asked in displeasure.

There was no way that she did not notice the way in which these people were making fun of Dustin and laughing at him.

Since Simone would very likely be their future boss, the employees all exchanged glances with each other.

“Miss Simone, I think you misunderstood. We didn’t mean to tease him,” Gavin said quickly.

“Honestly, I really admire Dustin. Very few people can go as far as him.”

“That’s right, Simone. They didn’t mean it that way. You misunderstood,” Keller said with a smile and tried to defuse the situation.

“Besides, I doubt that Dustin is a petty person. He gets it.” Keller looked at Dustin.

He thought that Dustin would probably understand when it was better to be easygoing and give in.

However, Dustin laughed chillingly.

“What is it that I should get?” Dustin’s gaze was icy.

“You don’t need to act all fake here or pretend like we’re all friends. Who do you think you are to make fun of me?” Dustin did not hold back and rebuked them.

The mood in the private room immediately changed.

No one expected that Dustin would get mad right away.

“Aw, Dustin! You really can’t take a joke,” Gavin said with a frown.

“I used to be your senior in high school. I only told the story to liven things up. I didn’t mean to make fun of you. Why are you so pressed?”

“That’s right. It’s just a little bit of fun. How are you supposed to socialize with people if you can’t take a joke?” someone said unhappily.

“How are you supposed to survive in the world with such a temper? You can’t just flip out on everyone at the drop of a hat.”
