Dustin was dressed casually with a half-dazed and half-drunken expression. Nothing about him stood out.
And yet, this seemingly unremarkable young man was someone even the top family in Hattan could not afford to cross!
The onlookers were filled with doubt, and they were struggling to believe their eyes.
This was especially true for Brad and the bartender.
“Captain Hamilton, are you seriously saying that even the Mabry family wouldn’t dare cross this kid? You must be joking.” Brad’s face was full of disbelief.
“Do I look like I’m joking?” Bryce asked coldly.
Brad was skeptical. He assumed Bryce was just trying to cover for that kid.
“Then tell me, who exactly is he, that even the Mabry family wouldn’t dare mess with?”
All eyes turned to Bryce. They were eager to hear his answer.
The curiosity in the room was palpable.
But Bryce was at a loss for words.
He did not even know Dustin’s name.
“I do not know his real identity, but I know one thing: he is someone extraordinary. If even the Mabry family won’t cross him, do you think you can?” Bryce asked.
Brad’s face darkened.
“You are just trying to protect him,” he snapped. “Look at him! He doesn’t look like someone of status at all, more like some loser off the streets. And you are telling me the Mabry family should be afraid of him? How are you not embarrassed to say that out loud?
“Captain Hamilton, let me give you some advice. Think very carefully. Do you really want to protect this troublemaker? Do you think you can afford to?”
The bar manager’s face was just as cold.
“Captain Hamilton, you are not taking this man anywhere. He stays here, and we will handle him ourselves!”
Bryce’s expression turned dark with anger.
“The stupid Euphoria Lounge has a death wish?” the voice thundered.
After exchanging a few more words, Bryce hung up and turned to Brad and the bar manager.
“You are done for. The higher-ups are furious,” he said with a smirk.
The bar manager frowned. Brad, however, looked unimpressed. He still thought that Bryce was putting up an act.
“Go on, keep up the act. I would love to see how far you can take it,” Brad said mockingly.
“‘Higher-ups,’ you say? Then let me talk to this so-called ‘higher-up’ myself. Put him on speaker. Let’s see how powerful he really is.”
“Shut up, you fat pig,” Bryce snapped. “Who the hell do you think you are? Do you even have the right to listen in on this call? You are just a pathetic bootlicker.”
“You…” Brad’s face twisted in fury.
“You are taking this call.” Bryce pointed to the bar manager.
