Peter gave out a small chuckle and answered, "What are you talking about, old man? I don't agree with you. Nic clearly wanted to kill me and I had to fight back for myself. Don't blame James. It's my fault. Also, for your information, James isn't related to me."

James was stunned at Peter's words.

Everyone was shocked at the term "Old man".

Peter was being really rude and impolite to Bernard.

George couldn't contain the anger and shouted at Peter, "Peter, check your tone. Don't talk rudely with my grandfather or I swear, I will shoot you!"

Peter smirked and mocked him in return, "Oh, is that a threat? It makes me laugh. Stop showing off your gun. It's nothing to me." He then looked at Bernard and said casually, "What's up? Are you mad at me? If I knew you were a person of this sort, maybe I wouldn't have saved your life. James, let's go."

Peter suggested hastily to prevent things from becoming heated up.

First, Peter offended Song family and then offended Ye family. But he didn't really care at this point.

Could he really own up to his arrogance?

Everyone around him was confused. They kept eyeing Peter in shock.

You are right. Nic deserved what he got. If you hadn't punched him, I'd have asked my bodyguards to do it."

Bernard came across as a completely different person now after he recognized for who Peter truly was.

The effect of this announcement was similar to those around, except for the one who did know already.

What had happened? Why did Bernard's attitude change so drastically?

George froze, his nostrils flaring with anger and deep offence. He wanted to cover his face and weep at the emotional blow he had just received.

Why did his grandfather slap him? He was, in fact, talking for his grandfather's honor and this was what he got in return?

"Oh, really? I thought you hated me." Peter's tone changed too as he replied, ever so politely.

Their mannerly conversation lightened the mood in the house, stifling the shock of the slap that had made the air thick.

"Oh, don't say that. I'm not an ungrateful person. You saved my life and I will be grateful to you for the rest of my life. I'm so glad you came to celebrate my birthday with my family. Let me introduce you to my old friends," Bernard said, smiling.

He then held Peter's hand and took him all about the room, introducing his friends to him. Peter kept smiling and nodding politely as he shook their hands.

Bernard was aware of how skilled Peter was. Previously, Peter had cured him of a stubborn disease which had made him suffer for many years before. It truly was a miracle and no experts from around the world had been able to heal him.

Peter had saved his life. He would do everything in his power to help him, no matter who he was going against, even the rest of the world or Song family.
