My Bloody Revenge novel Chapter 50

Tiana mingles among the guests as she welcomes each and every one to her little soiree. A

band are softly playing some jazzy tunes in the background. The Pialla mansion is filled with

important people and every inch of the house is decorated to please every last one of them.

Nothing has been spared. Well-dressed waiters easily maneuver trays filled with refreshments

as they move around the various rooms with their offers. After some meet and greet time Tiana

merrily calls everyone to take their designated seats in the dining area. She stands together

with Mike as they together wait for everyone to sit.

"First I'd like to thank you all for coming. Second, I must say that I envy how you all look this

evening. The 1920s agrees with you. If I didn't know any better, I might think I have real

mobsters around my table." she jokes as chuckles and small hoots erupts around the table.

"Let's eat and party like they did back in the days. A six-course meal has been prepared so I

hope you are starving."

"Afterwards whiskey and cards." Mike announces much to the men's appreciation.

Only seconds passes after the little speech and waiters walks out holding plates filled with

steaming hot food. Each guest is served simultaneously and to give everything that extra flare,

Tiana has made sure to personalize each plate with something. It doesn't take long for someone

to notice and soon each guest is comparing with one another. Exclaims of of approval and

delight fills the room. A few applauds the hosts creativity. Tiana is soaking up every scrape of

praise coming her way. She is practically glowing in her seat. Sometime between the fourth and

fifth course a maid quietly enters with a package in her hands.

"I'm sorry to disturb ma’am but a package arrived for you. Said it was a special delivery."

"Place it in my room, please." Tiana orders dismissively. The maid is about to walk away when a

woman speaks up. Voice intrigued. "Surely you don't mean to withhold such gift from the rest

of us? The wrapping appears most exquisite. Not only are you a real beauty this evening but

you also have someone send a special gift. I do envy you."

Laughing Tiana smiles broadly. "Oh Emily, as if you are allowed to tease me with that stunning

look. We all know who the real queen is this evening. That dress is a killer who doesn't leave

any curve hidden. And if you want me to open it here then it's my pleasure." smiles widely at

the mother of her son in law. Waving the maid back she takes the nicely wrapped package and

waves the young woman away the moment she has the package in her own hands. Delightful

Oh’s and Ah’s travels around the table at the same time some starts guessing what it might be

hidden inside.

"Here goes..." chuckling Tiana deftly undoes the wrapping only to be surprised to see a satin

covered box entirely in black. Eyeing the medium sized box, she quickly glances at the people

around her only to see several eyes glued to the mysterious box. By now murmurs has turned

into excited shouts. Some think it hides a full set of jewels while others think tiara, shoes, hat

and so on. Something with high value. Silencing the crowd, she slowly lifts the lid and peaks

inside only to back away with a startled scream. Lid dropping to the floor.

"Oh god..." someone chokes out just before pure panic erupts.

Between screaming women, fainting women and puking guests Tiana is only staring at the

chopped off head stuffed with money making it look like a pig’s head at the Christmas table. A

head belonging to a man very well known to her. Tears streams down her face. Tears of rage.

Someone dares to threaten her and destroy everything she and Mike has built. Looking closely

Tiana notice that the head is laying in a rather fresh pool of blood. Someone sent this almost

directly after beheading him.

"We need to do damage control and fast." Mike whispers in his wife ear.

"Tell Jenny to take lead."

Soon Jenny's voice is being heard over the panic and although she too sounds distressed

everyone is blindly following her instructions. In no time Jenny has vacated the dining area

leaving Tiana and Mike alone with the head of Elmir.

"Who do you think did this?" Tiana questions as she looks at Mike. "Elmir is a very powerful

man."

"No idea but we are going to find out. First, we need to act as if we know nothing and call the

police. We are victims here. Someone wanting to threaten us. Almost every rich person worth

something knows who Elmir is so being associated with him is nothing strange."

United they put their best game faces on and walks out to the shocked people gathered around

a devastated Jenny. Oliver holding her tightly in his arms. The moment the couple walks in

Jenny looks up and almost throws herself at Tiana. "Mother..."she whimpers. Tiana

immediately puts her arms around her as if being protective.

"We have called the police" Mike says with an ashen look as he sits down.

"How could someone do such a thing." a man says out loudly.

"What does it mean?" another asks.

"Have you been threatened lately, dad?" Ben asks visibly shaken.

"You know how it is Ben. There is always someone out there with misdirected anger but I never

thought it would lead up to this." Mike stammers out, wiping his face with shaking hands.

"Mr and Mrs Pialla, the police are here." another maid informs.

Not long after that and the house is swarming with the authority and all guests are being

questioned before allowed to leave. It takes nearly two hours for everyone to be questioned. In

total it takes close to four hours before the last officer leaves, allowing the family to breathe.

Heaving a loud, heavy, sigh Tiana falls down on the couch in the lounge, head tilted back.

"I never thought Oliver would leave. Talk about clingy." Jenny whines as she joins Tiana on the

couch.

"Then you should try and peel off a weeping woman on the verge of hysteria. I wanted to laugh

every time I was forced to look at the face. Looked like a damn raccoon." Ben complaints as he

enters the room. "Could anyone explain what just happened?"

"Yeah. And was that Elmir's head?" Jenny questions puzzled.

"It was a message but I can't figure out from who." Tiana tiredly rubs her temples. "All this is

giving me a headache."

Mike pours himself a glass of whiskey then another one until he stops pouring and simply drinks

directly from the carafe. All four stays silent as each of them process the evenings happenings.

Eventually Ben is the one who breaks the silence. "Should we call Greg? He should be able to

give some answers."

"Already tried that. No answer." Mike says.

Applauding hands startles all four. "Oscar for best actress goes to Tiana Pialla." a condescending

voice declares.

"You..."Tiana whispers disbelieving. "It can't be..." trembling Tiana stands.

"Did you like the gift?" Lyra asks cheerfully. "It was custom made just for the Pialla family."

"Foolish girl." Mike barks. "Did you really think we would allow you to leave after confessing

such a thing? Once stupid always stupid. “he sneers.
