Rex immediately became unhappy and said, "Why am I not worthy? I sacrificed a collaboration for you, and that money is worth much more than this meal!"
"Alright then, you can continue working with Nores Group, huh?" Ayan didn't show any hesitation.
Rex felt disheartened and said, "I owe you my whole life."
"It's good that you understand. You must have done something to wrong me in your past life, so this life is meant for you to repay that debt."
Shaking his head, Rex felt exhausted. But friends are chosen by oneself, what else can he do? Just pamper him!
It was just the two of them for dinner today, and their secretaries were seated at a separate table next door, not to disturb their conversation.
After the waiters served the dishes, they officially started eating.
Rex wasn't quite sure what happened yesterday, so he found the meal boring and wanted to find some topics to chat about. While picking up his food, he looked up at Ayan and asked, "Ayan, tell me, what exactly happened that made you go to such lengths?"
Ayan snorted coldly, his expression growing even colder. He wasn't entirely clear about what happened last night either, but he could gather the general idea from Alicia's few words. That was enough because he believed in Camille. He knew Camille wasn't someone who would actively seek trouble.
As for Alicia, he didn't believe her, of course.
He briefly explained what happened last night to Rex, who nodded in agreement. "This needs to be dealt with. How audacious of her! Does she really think we're nobody? This Alicia, she followed you all the way when you went to the southern city before, and now that she knows about you and Camille, she's still clinging. Isn't she bored?"
Ayan had nothing to say. He didn't care about what Alicia thought or how she thought. He only knew that Camille had been wronged this time. Although Camille didn't say anything, didn't speak ill of the Nores family, and didn't demand that Ayan do anything to Alicia or the Nores family, precisely because of that, he had to avenge Camille.
Rex didn't express his agreement with this. If it were Sienna in Camille's place, he would do the same as Ayan.
However, Rex also asked, "If it was before when your relationship with Camille wasn't as good, would you have chosen Alicia?"
Ayan raised his eyes and looked at Rex indifferently, his gaze carrying a hint of sharpness and coldness. He said, "What do you think?"
"I wouldn't dare to speculate about that. After all, I wouldn't dare to casually guess your thoughts. Don't you agree?" Rex smiled lightly, but his curiosity in his eyes remained unchanged.
Ayan squinted slightly, his tone indifferent. "I haven't thought about that because it's not something that would happen to me. I won't entertain hypothetical questions like that."
"Whether you haven't thought about it or you think Alicia isn't worthy of comparison with Camille, but didn't you initially divorce Camille for Eileen's sake?"
Rex's words silenced Ayan instantly.
The two locked eyes, and Ayan lowered his gaze slightly, his expression particularly cold as he looked at Rex. Then he said, "Did Sienna send you here today to argue with me?"
"It's not like that. Isn't it just the two of us now? Haven't we had a heart-to-heart conversation in a long time? Can't we have a good chat?"
"I don't think you want to have a good chat. You're trying to pry some gossip out of me, aren't you?"
"Oh, Ayan, that's not fair. How can you not trust me? Am I that kind of person?"
Rex, curious about Ayan's mysterious demeanor, asked, "What kind of deal?"
"Aren't you concerned about what will happen to Eileen?"
"Stop, Ayan, don't put me in trouble. I'm not concerned about Eileen, I'm concerned about how you will handle this matter. If Sienna finds out about this, it won't be easy for me to explain. Besides, I have no connection with Eileen, no, we have absolutely no intersection. I don't even know her," Rex said, clearly indicating that he wanted nothing to do with it.
Ayan couldn't help but smile at this series of reactions. He looked at Rex calmly and corrected himself, "Alright, it has nothing to do with you. You're just curious, that's all. Is that acceptable?"
Rex was left speechless and quietly waited for Ayan to continue.
Seeing Rex's guarded demeanor, Ayan couldn't help but find it somewhat amusing.
Ayan stared at him and continued, "I can't personally handle Eileen's situation right now. She just publicly criticized Preston. If I were to do something to her at this moment, the online community and Preston would undoubtedly make a big fuss about it. But I can't keep her detained at the police station indefinitely either. If I release her, Preston might cause trouble for her, and it could even indirectly affect me. So, I'll hand her over to you, alright?"
As soon as Ayan finished speaking, Rex's face instantly turned panicked, or rather, terrified. He didn't even think about it and immediately shook his head, saying, "No, I refuse. I don't want to be involved in anything related to Eileen."
Rex looked scared, and his extreme reaction amused Ayan.
Ayan looked at him, slightly puzzled. He furrowed his brow and asked, "What's wrong with you? Why do you look so terrified? Is Eileen a devil or something?"
"She's even more devilish than a devil. Don't you think I should be scared?" Rex completely rejected the idea of helping Eileen and said, "You should know that Camille dislikes Eileen a lot. You've caused Camille a lot of distress because of Eileen in the past, and Sienna knows all about it. So, if I were to help Eileen, do you think Sienna wouldn't skin me alive?"
