Chapter 1531: Collision

Camille remained silent because she didn't know either.

Camille sighed silently, feeling curious about the question.

Perhaps even Ayan himself is not sure.

Camille didn't want to bring up that person again and changed the topic voluntarily, saying, "Forget it, let's not talk about him. Just mentioning him makes me feel uncomfortable."

Sienna noticed Camille's avoidance and didn't continue to ask. She said, "Don't take it to heart too much. No matter how prepared we are, we can't really defend against someone with premeditation. After all, he has planned everything in advance, calculating every move. How can we, innocent and kind-hearted people, be his match?"

Camille laughed.

That statement sounded a bit self-centered.

Camille replied, "Yes, yes, you're right. I also think that people like us, who are innocent and kind-hearted, are not his match. But it doesn't matter. Ayan is not a simple person. Just because he doesn't have any defenses against us doesn't mean he's the same with others."

Otherwise, he wouldn't be sitting in the position of the President of Simpson Group.

Sienna agreed, "Yes, you're absolutely right. Let Ayan use his defenses against Preston, who needs to be suppressed."

Camille had great confidence in Ayan, but at the same time, she couldn't help but worry. She was worried that Preston would act without considering the consequences and without any regard for others. Therefore, he would not hesitate to do whatever it takes.

Camille took a deep breath and fell into a momentary contemplation.

She didn't stay in Sienna's office for too long, not wanting to disturb Sienna's work schedule.

She glanced at the time on her phone and got up from the sofa. She said, "You carry on with your work. I'm leaving now. You don't have to wait for me to come home later. I plan to go to Simpson Group."

"Are you going to talk to Ayan about this?"

"Yes." Indeed, she had to talk to him. She had discussed the matter of Jillian joining the project over the phone in the morning, and now there was the issue of Preston sending flowers. She didn't know if Ayan would be in a good mood after hearing about it. So she decided to talk to him face-to-face. If he was unhappy, she could try to comfort him on the spot.

Camille returned to her office and finished some work before contacting the bodyguard arranged by Ayan to wait for her downstairs.

She went directly to Simpson Group and brought a cup of coffee for Ayan on the way. She also brought bubble tea and cake for the secretary.

She always did this whenever she visited, so the secretary was always very welcoming towards her and wished she could come twice a day.

After delivering all the bubble tea and cake, Camille went to Ayan's office with the coffee in hand.

She already knew from Kian that Ayan was alone in his office looking at documents, so she gently pushed open the door and walked in.

The man was focused on the documents in front of him and didn't notice anyone entering until a familiar scent of gardenia reached his nose. He instinctively sniffed and immediately looked up.

Camille was approaching quietly, but her eyes were caught by his gaze. They locked eyes, and Camille froze.

She asked, "Why did you look up?"

He had sensed her presence through her scent, so of course he looked up.

Ayan put down the documents in his hand and smiled slightly, "Were you trying to surprise me secretly?"

Since he had already discovered her, Camille no longer needed to be sneaky. She walked directly to his desk with the coffee and handed it to him. "Do you like this surprise?"

He reached out and held her wrist, pulling her into his embrace. His voice was low and hoarse as he said, "I like it."

He kissed Camille's cheek and asked softly, "Why did you come at this time?"

It was a bit late for afternoon tea but also a bit late for the end of work hours.

After facing off with Preston for so long, Ayan naturally understood Preston's behavior. Preston did all these petty actions just to make him unhappy and create major conflicts between him and Camille. If that happened, Preston would achieve his goal.

Ayan's response made Camille nod lightly; what he said was indeed true.

Camille softly expressed her thoughts, saying, "I thought you would be upset, so I prepared many comforting words for you. But now it seems they're all unnecessary."

Ayan laughed. "You can still say them now."

"You don't need comforting words; I won't say them."

"If you say them, I will be even more convinced that my decision is correct." His decision was to ignore Preston's actions as if they never happened.

Camille pursed her lips but couldn't say anything because the atmosphere didn't match. Some words just couldn't be spoken.

She took the initiative to hug Ayan's neck and gently rested her chin on his shoulder. She whispered softly, "Since I've told you everything voluntarily, you mustn't be unhappy, okay?"

"Okay, I understand." He hugged her tightly in his arms with a smile on his lips. He asked playfully, "Don't you want to comfort me?"

Camille sat up straight and gently released him from her embrace. Their gazes met again as she said, "Do you need comforting when you're not angry?"

"I don't need it, but if you comfort me, I'll be in a very good mood."

Camille's eyes flickered before she leaned over and kissed his lips lightly. "Does that make you feel better?"

Ayan laughed.

He realized that whenever he was getting along harmoniously with Camille, there would always be a smile on his face.
